Brohm was courted by Louisville the last time the job was open. And here we are again.

Purdue opening is a domino away, but as Dan just pointed out, that's a place I could see actually matching up with Creighton.

Jeff Brohm won the CUSA in both of his last two years at Western Kentucky before Purdue hired him. Chris Creighton has never won his own division at EMU. I highly, highly doubt Purdue would seriously consider Creighton.

Especially coming off playing for the B10 championship, albeit they kinda lucked into it.

Also kind of a curious hire for UC. Sattefield hadn't exactly been killing it at Louisville, he's 1 game over .500 there and there was some talk headed into the season he may be on the hot seat. Also interesting he's leaving before the bowl game (pretty much has to with early signing day) which happens to be Louisville vs Cincinnati.

Haven't been following L'ville, but a fmr. EMU Provost WILL BE top Cardinal (or U President). Appointment effective in 2023.

To be honest, his MAC record, when viewed from people like us who know the league, is FAR better than Creighton's, Candle's or McElwain's. His overall W-L record is suspect, but Kent REALLY likes those payday games. Took over a historical dumpster fire just like CC, had just one bad year and after that, an 18-10 MAC record, including a bowl win.

I'm not sure coach Prime can coach. Recruit, among the best. X and Os, no.

And? Ed Orgeron won a Natty by clapping and yelling “Go Tigers” the whole time. Deion is hiring competent coordinators and bringing in tons of talent. Colorado is going to be very good very soon.

RE: Coaching Carousel Thread 2022
I talked with coaches at Central, Eastern, Western, and one person at Toledo about who Western would hire.
They all thought that the AD would go with someone who was connected with the AD.
Their thought process was that Tim Lester won a bowl game the previous year, they had the #1 2023 recruiting class in the MAC until he was fired, and he finished strong by beating Central. Why would the AD fire a guy who has that on his resume? They thought that he must be bringing in a guy that he wants, someone that he needs to payback for helping him get a job and move up, or a friend
Tony Paul of the Detroit News disagrees and the 3 finalist he has named have no correlation with him.
I thought that the coaches would be right but Tony is saying no. I am split as to what will happen. But I am going to listen to the coaches on this one.

I do want to preference that I talked to those coaches close to a week ago, so their opinion could have changed

Sean Lewis was making 530k at Kent. Wonder how much of the 5M coaches pool he gets?

I bet he goes from HC to OC and gets a nice pay raise.

For sure. Chuck Martin took a pay cut when he left his Notre Dame coordinator job for Miami. Most P5 coordinators make more than MAC HC's. The MAC historically has NOT been a springboard for P5 coordinators to get a head coaching position either. Campbell, Carey, Fleck and Leipold we not P5 coordinators.

That is why I wince when I hear a MAC school is looking at the OC from say, Purdue. He would be stupid to return their calls if he aspires to bigger and better things.

I hear you: Twice the responsibility and half the pay. Sounds like a winner. 04-chairshot04-chairshot
