GCU Midnight Madness...
Looks like GCU, the students, cheerleaders, etc... put in a lot of time to choreograph this event.

RE: GCU Midnight Madness...
Obviously GCU has some cash to burn for festivities like this. The event didn't have much to do with basketball, but their students appeared to like it. The fact that the Havoc draw so well for simply a glorified practice kind of diminishes the drawing power of playing a high-level opponent. The Havoc will draw for anything... a practice... Prairie View A&M... Illinois... it's all the same. In the bigger picture, it's not a bad thing to have fans in the seats but like at NMSU the level of enthusiasm and vigor of our fan's cheers is directly tied to the level of our competition (and fan interest). During game time, UNM and UTEP can make Aggie fans' cheers as loud as a jet engine... but a midnight madness not so much. At an event like that, we're there simply to meet the players and see them run drills and practice live... and everything else is just fluff. But the Havoc and their antics are a good marketing tool for enrollment and recruiting.

RE: GCU Midnight Madness...
An entire post to bash GCU and their fans. And from an NMSU fan no less after NSMU fans say over and over that they don't care about GCU and they are not a (conference) rival...

BTW, there have been a ton of posts and comments on the Aggie board regarding GCU's midnight madness. I haven't watched any of the clips or videos. I could care less what GCU or any other school is doing. I care about NMSU and what we are doing.

For me, whatever a school is doing which increases fan interest, I’m all in. Great job GCU!

If people from other schools "bash" what GCU is doing to generate fan support, that creates rivalries between schools; an us versus them mentality.

And this thread is what you make of it. If you like the festivities at GCU, you can say so. And if you think it is mindless fluff and has nothing to do with basketball, you can have that opinion too.

I'm here to give my opinion on what I love and hate about all the WAC programs... My Aggies and all other WAC schools (teams, fans, facilities, etc.)... but not individuals.

I'm not here to be morality police on this board and point out the hypocrisy of other posters. I only make it personal if you make it personal.

There is a workout thread that you contribute to heavily. You had already posted there on GCU's midnight madness and even made a comment about it. Then you felt it needed it's own thread. When you created this thread, you went away from posting about what you "love and hate about all the WAC programs".

All means "all" from an institutional aspect. I don't make it personal to any individual. This is supposed to be an opinion board about all things surrounding sports and the WAC... not people, posters, and such. Stop pointing out your perceived flaws, faults, and motivations of other posters on this board and focus on sports and the WAC schools. Make it macro opinion, not a micro one.

I understand what you are saying about personal attacks. But you started a controversial thread that is sure to stir the pot. The GCU posters on here have been all class all the time. There is literally no reason for this thread but to pile on GCU.
