Good and Bad News
On the bad side a few hours ago after over 60 years of operation, I-30 Speedway closed the gates to the track for the final time. The track is being sold and will be operated as an auto lot for a large auto salvage company. I-30 was the second oldest track in this part of the country behind only Riverside International Speedway (72 years) in West Memphis

In what may be good news, pictures on Google Maps taken a couple weeks ago shows the racing facilities at Memphis International Raceway are still intact. There is evidence that the facilities are still being maintained as the grass is not overgrown as you would expect at a place that been shut down for close to 4 months.

The clerk's office still list 6th Street Investment ( formerly Moroso Investment Group) as the owners. Also the land use group is still listed as entertainment.
