RE: Changes for Toledo
We need to change to a 65-35 pass-run ratio. We need to be a passing team not a running team. Rocky, Tucker, and Rutk are our best players. Get Waylee more involved in the passing game also. Think he will break more long runs with that ratio also…

Waylee had 13 rushes that went for 2 yards or less. To me that’s ridiculous. He had another 5 that only went for 3 yards. It may be the result of stacked boxes and why it’s a case of feast or famine, but the O-line really needs to improve the push they’re getting. Way too many defenders getting in the backfield.

We are too predictable. The defense just tees off because they know exactly what’s coming on offense. It get us in too many second and long and third and long situations. It’s been a problem all season.

I never thought I’d say this, but I’d welcome back the jet sweep to the WRs just to get the defense out of attacking straight up field.

That’s how Lynch was effective early. Then the defense caught on and the coaches had no counter. Lynch read option sweep action pass would’ve been wide open. Of course it would’ve gone to McCray or a TE and would’ve been a drop.

Why in the hell do the coaches have a hatred of TEs? A short high percentage pass over the line can result in nice YAC. Why do they hate TEs?

No answer. Eidness TEs put up huge numbers at SD State. Guess our guys are not very good. But they have to be able to catch better than McCray, right????

Sooner or later I think Gumbs starts making big YAC when they get him the ball. They’re going to regret not involving him the last few games. It’s like he’s been in the doghouse because of that game clinching drop on 4th down vs Tulsa.

We really need to start seeing it on the field. The coaches need to smarten up… FAST.

Might be a little too much "committed to the process" and not enough just coaching. Guys competing for spots in practice will be more nervous about losing their jobs over one mistake, and checking the marks on those clipboards. Is it more about competing with each other than competing to succeed in games? Just a thought, however misguided.

Know what would really help? THUNDERSTIX!! Love banging those things! Why did they stop giving them out? Don’t want too much noise in Huskie Stadium?

You’d think after watching Mccray screw up game after game the players would have to be thinking the starting spots are completely locked down with little chance to move up.

They had a bucket of random artifacts they were giving out at the Vandy game. Thunderstix was one of the items. I took a few.

I'm guessing they stopped giving them out because we couldn't get the sponsors. They used to say TCF Bank on them.

I’d argue his drops cost us the game in regulation in 2 games this year. Tulsa and balls.

As for the jet sweeps. Would love to see Rut on a couple just to get the ball in his hands more. He’s sneaky fast IMO. Gotta find a way to get the ball into the playmakers hands.

RE: Changes for Toledo
Here's some ways to turn this around:

1. Build actual dog houses and put them on the bench, and have Hammock force players to sit in them as appropriate, like Antario Brown.
2. Bring back Rod Carey or Lee Corso as coach.
3. Bring back 77 year old Joe Novak to coach the D, I mean that worked out great with Tony LaRussa.
4. Have Justin Lynch play defense, maybe LB or safety. I think Jordan's got a little kid now, pad him up to help Uncle Justin.
5. Run only trick plays on offense, the fumble-rooski, statue of liberty, hidden ball, pretend the QB is walking off the field, I mean everything!
6. Don't throw to guys who can't catch, they are shattered at this point, sad for a kid, but sit them for a few games and have them practice practice practice.
7. Establish an all you can eat party at Fatty's right before the game, only for Toledo players. STF pays.
8. If we go up by 14 or more early, call in an air strike to level the stadium (evacuate it of course). We get the win, right?

Agree 100%. Do not kick from the right or left hash with wind issues.
