I expect he will try to go against Toledo and will also likely be playing with a brace to protect the knee. He's a big guy with strong arm and runs well. Tough to bring down. Brace on the knee and the injury lingering will likely hamper his running ability. The back up has done fairly well with a high QBR, but hasn't been able to get a "W".
i guess we'll know more as the week progresses on whether Lombardi can play next week.
According to an article I read by Kyle Rowland Lombardi is done for the season.
If true, NIU season is over.
Didn’t we think that when they went down to their third QB? And they still kicked our butts. To me, that was humiliating. Or maybe it was Ball State I’m old and don’t remember

2015 Fr. Ryan Graham came in the second quarter. Campbell thought he had this one in the bag and played it too conservative. NIU scored the go ahead with about 2 minutes left.

Any updates on the injuries from last week? Hook, Johnson, Blankumsee? Also, will Berg be back or waiting another week?

Saw the injury report and Northern Ill is still showing Lombardi as "questionable". Not reliable. Toledo shows "no injuries to report", meaning they didn't bother reporting anything. NIU just doesn't want Toledo to know if Lombardi will or will not play.

So we are in the driver's seat....unfortunately it turns out our driver has been found to be operating while impaired a few times over the past few seasons. Wonder if the handicappers are considering our inability to win on the road and knocked the points down to -5.5. I have to believe are docking Toledo a few points when they travel this year after blowing the point spreads in Columbus and San Diego.
NIU has always seemed to do well with OK solid, don't make mistake kind of QBs. Five others on the roster with nearly identicle physical characteristics. I imagine they're well prepared with game plans to each strength as opposed to making the QB fit the system.
Yeah it does seem like NIU has any number of QB's who can burn us, where we usually have QB1 and that is it.

60 pts and 5.5 means we win 33- 27... anyone objecting? Seeing NIU has lost the 2021 luck of winning every close game? Are 15k fans at NIU going to scare our players into a shell? We should be ready. Any win is a good win.
No objections to that score. No reason based on trend for Vegas to expect anything else besides a 1 TD Toledo win with a few points shaved for home field.
That being said, I expect the Huskies to come out like a wounded dog trapped in a corner. Last week's loss is either going to be a wake up call or the beginning of the end of a long season. I'd be surprised if this wasn't a 4 quarter game.

Finn was a good #2 behind Bradly, and Eli Peters won us a game or two behind Guadagni. Before that Woodside stepped in for Owens admirably in 2013 vs. EWU and CMU.

Doesn't matter if Lombardi isn't playing (they will have a capable backup ready to go) so the UT defense better play their A game.

Can't seem to get a ling to work but it was in Sunday Blah I think, A friend sent it to me since I no longer have a subscription to the Blah
Quote "Suddenly, Toledo (3-2, 1-0 MAC) finds itself as the MAC favorite heading to Northern Illinois, the preseason favorite and defending champion, which lost to Ball State on Saturday and lost quarterback Rocky Lombardi for the season."
