And so it begins.

In fairness, if you're going to give 10 candidates for just about any power 5 school a young successful MAC coach would be on it. Especially when it's his alma mater.

Aside from widening Summit, what are the options? Summit is along wetland an private property. Good luck with that red tape. Personally, I'm beyond thrilled we have this problem.

I’m happy to see a relatively big crowd too. But I’m going to guess that sitting in an hour-long line of traffic to watch MAC football is enough to make a lot of people choose to stay home. One entrance open on the east side. The west lot wasn’t even full and yet they had it gated off. A few students trying to collect money and park cars. How much more amateur can you get?

Have you ever been to Downtown Canton for the HOF? Many colleges bus fans in from remote locations, which Kent is offering.
The road needs to stay open for through traffic and locals as well. Plan ahead and arrive early. Any football fan knows this.
As much as I'd like to say this is going to be a problem we need to deal with year-in and year-out, and the university needs to front a ton of money for something like a parking garage, it's not going to be around forever. The cycle of MAC success has peaks and valleys. Fans will go back to watching OSU in a few years.

My route of choice has always been south down Horning Rd into the side entrance of the Summit lot before you hit Summit and the fresh hell it presents. A little bit of a walk from that lot, but it's not too bad if you take the walking bridge over 261.

Shuttle buses are a good idea. I've done that. But as I said earlier, I don't think there will be much of a problem after the Akron game.

[/With Coach Lewis' salary I am more concern about a Power 5 school offering a OC position with a significant pay raise.

I have a feeling that Kent to Wisconsin may be a stretch. I believe Wisconsin, if not the entire nation, views Wisconsin as a step above Illinois, Rutgers, Purdue, Maryland and the like. My gut tells me Iowa States guy is probably better positioned for a job like this whereas Coach Lewis will likely land a tier down…at first anyway.

Wisconsin has a reputation of having one of the best marching bands in the country.
Surely this will make the coaching position more attractive to the candidates.

I think you are mistaking marching band for orchestra. Like Wisconsin's football program, the orchestra consistently earns high pre - season rankings, is often featured on national prime time telecasts and is typically a big draw when it takes on orchestras from Ohio State and Michigan. The orchestra, like the football team has been in the Big Ten Championship game six times since it became a thing. Only Ohio State can claim more.

So yes, I do think the orchestra will help draw the best candidates. The band, on the other hand, probably not.

I'm pretty sure it will be the money, wherever it is. 4 years of being unsuccessful at a P5 school, gives you enough to keep your children and grandchildren out of debt (Darryll Hazel).

Honestly though, I think a lot of Sean's success to this point was the making of Dustin Crum. A year of success with another QB will help his stock.
