LOL, I remember that whole mess with Prince and Warner Brothers. The guy could not even use his own birthname that his parents gave him. Although he made more money by cutting out the middleman (Warner Bro) by selling his music directly to the consumer, he sold a lot fewer records and that caused a hit to his fame the last 10 to 15 years of his life. Its funny that someone entertains that such a scenario could play out for the ACC, lol.

I don't know that it would work, but props for original thinking!

If the players protest by painting slave on their cheeks, it won't be because of the ACC media contract.

Actually he could have used his name but chose to legally change it in hopes it would void his record deal since Prince would no longer exist. After that didn't work he just went nuclear on Warner & killed his commercial appeal at the same time

Not really, after going back & forth Warner agreed to allow him to release a song without any input from them. That song ended being The Most Beautiful Girl in the World which turned into global top ten hit. Warner's knew Prince wouldn't back down especially with proof so they reach a agreement that allowed him to release his contracted albums to them & freed him to sign whatever type of deal he wantex
