We have a lot of tough games on the schedule. I was always a little confused when folks on here said we had an easy schedule this year.

FAU, WKU, Rice, and UTSA looking like toss ups, possibly us being dogs.

Middle Tennessee looks a heck of a lot better than they did in week 1.

Our schedule was easier with Southern Miss and WKU on the schedule. That would have been two large home crowds.

Yep. I agree with you.

UAB is currently a 10.5 point favorite at Rice.

I thought the number was too much vs Ga Southern.
This seems like it is too much again.

It started at like 13.0 or 13.5.. which ended up being right on the money in retrospect.

Do I think UAB is 10 points better than Rice. Yes. Do I also think that we have a way of imploding or doing something crazy that will cause us to lose? Yes. It's really that simple. Will we show up and take care of business, or do something dumb that keeps them in the game and causes us to lose. The debacle at Liberty still looms large in my mind.

I believe Rice is passing well and converting a ton of third down situations. After last season’s debacle at Protective, where Rice carved up our defense with short passes, I expect to see the same this Saturday. We couldn’t stop Georgia Southern on third downs last game. The point spread seems high to me.

We stopped them enough to go up 21-0.
After that we were stopping them from breaking a chunk play.
Statistics would show that maybe we lost to Ga Southern.
Maybe a similar performance vs Rice? Their offense is comparable to Ga Southern.
But Rice has a much better defense.

Fun Fact: Rice has beat the spread by 10.5 points or better in the past three weeks. And averaged over 20+ points better per week.

I’m not saying Rice should be favored. But I am saying UAB -10.5 on the road is way too high.
