I also believe you can only hear this activity via a vaginal ultrasound and not the standard on belly ultrasound.

How many vaginal ultrasounds and belly ultrasounds of 6 week old fetus' have you listened to in your many years in the medical field, that would lead you to make that statement? We'd all be interested to hear more about your knowledge on the topic.

Well I'm not a doctor but I'm pretty sure they are supposed to have a period on a monthly basis. 6 weeks is clearly late in most cases.

Of course for argument sake people can always retreat to that tiny percentage of examples where there are other reasons for that, but 9 out of 10 times 6 weeks is a pretty clear indicator you might be pregnant.

Not that you automatically are, but you may well be.

Guess I'm a weird one then. I think my wife was 8 weeks with both when we knew or tested. May have just been timing

Well pretty much everyone knows at 8 weeks. But most know earlier. If they miss a period, they usually do a pregnancy test.
