RE: Amazon ratings
I went out for Thursday night NFL.

Probably about 100 out for it and glued to the game. Mostly a latin/indian crowd at the place I was. Indian guys at the tables mostly talking to their girlfriends.

Bar bought NFL ticket and even though it had the prime logo nobody noticed it.

Direct from church straight to the sports bar on Sunday's is popular for NFL viewing around here.

Bring all your children and women if you don't like it.....you can go stand outside and they do!

Click "Amazon Prime" button on my remote
Click her profile
Click first thing (since it's TNF on the bar)

One hell of an easy process, especially with the actual button built into the remote (only prime and netflix have their own buttons on mine). Quicker process than getting ESPN+ on the TV here. This would be a great streaming solution for a conference.

Amazon passes the "mom" test. It's so easy that my mom could watch TNF on prime (not that she would ofc). She also has netflix and amazon buttons on her remote.

IT would. The question is, is it a great deal for Amazon? If there aren't enough diehard PAC-12 fans to get the P12n on basic cable, are there enough to goose Amazon Prime subscriptions, or to drive viewership to Prime Video?

(Same questions apply for the Big 12, Big East, G5 leagues with expiring deals, etc etc)

The Pac-12 Network got into disputes with carriers over the carriage fees, who claimed the Pac-12 Network was demanding too much. That is why the Pac-12 Network distribution is only in about 15 million homes. Pac-12 fans were not given the opportunity to watch the games. Amazon Prime would be a huge improvement. For TNF, Amazon Prime cut a deal with Direct-TV to make the games available to more than 300,000 sports bars, restaurants, retail stores, hotel lounges, casinos and sports books, among other venues across the country. They would need to do the same for the Pac-12 or any other conference. In most sports bars in Southern California, the Pac-12 Network is not available.

The real goal here is to get all those sports bars and restaurants to sign up for commercial Amazon Prime accounts for the games, and then switch all of their ordering to come through Amazon.

Also this is a bit nerdier, but I can tell you that over 100,000 people were watching the game live on Twitch last night (Amazon owns Twitch and was using their main "Prime Video" channel on there to live stream it). So there's now even an option to talk to people around the world in real time during the games. I know there was a service at one point that they were testing out last year on it where they'd have well known streamers host the games and have predictions come up where everyone following would go along. Prizes would go out to the streamer (and people in chat) who were the most accurate. That would be a fun as hell addition to it (real time predictions throughout the games, essentially prop bets continuously going on, like "will this drive end in a (choose from TD/FG/Punt/Turnover)". Could easily monetize that as well by making people need to buy tokens in order to participate in it.
