Fuente absolutely tanked the 2015 Temple game.

There was no energy. Nothing but a vanilla gameplan.

Cal looked messed up out of sorts. He coached as if he wasn't into it.

Bottom line. His coaching cost us that game. He did things I had never seen before. Our team looked leaderless.

Whether he did it on purpose or not is irrelevant. Some part of him didn't effffing care anymore.

He also had a history of Mike Anderson's teams kicking his rear end. And that was one of Andersons best teams.

Pitino would have won 4 titles had he stayed longer. He wasn't there that long and took over the program on heavy probation.

I suspect he has regretted walking away from that job for decades.

He seemed to be the GUY! Much like Jay Wright did after his most recent Natty. And how every other coach is put on a pedestal by the media after winning it all. However, Pitino is special IMO.

He also won 2013 title at Louisville over Michigan. It was stripped. But he won it, just like we went to the National Champ Game in 2008.

Yeah, first time I thought it was a typo. But it's used multiple times. Weird.

Cal won, Billy G lost and got hired at UK. Cal wanted the job then. You know that he made a mental note of how that went down. Then it's not a big leap to think that he would not make the mistake of winning and advancing the next time.

I don't follow, why take the loser?

The winner would be advancing, and UK would have to wait. They didn't want to wait. It was rumored that Gillispie and Cal were the 2 candidates. I figured the deal would be done before the winner finished playing in the tourney.

Ok I finally read it. Memphisians? Smh and Pastner did NOT leave on his own accord. We had to pay him for several years. Horrible journalism

Had he stayed I truly believe we would no longer have a football program. If we did it would look like U Conn’s.

So a good basketball team hurts the football program ?

It did when Shirley Raines & RC Johnson were in charge.

So now it’s the fault of Raines and Johnson? I thought it was Calipari that was the culprit? Funny how at Kentucky he hasn’t killed the football program there. Last I checked they are in the top 10. Has he become more of a football loving basketball coach in his old age?

I always find it interesting that it takes so long for the truth we all can see to 'come out'. When it finally does everyone is beyond caring.

Sure, Penny is here and is growing into the job but he has a long, long, long way to go to accomplish what X did here. Pastner was left on the job way to long and then Grandpa Huxtable was a seriously dumb*** hire. Penny wasn't ready for the job but it seems he wasn't going to be anyone's assistant so - 12-13 years after X the program is still struggling along to find its footing.

Cal has to be the big banana. There's no denying that.

The prevailing thought is that Cal wanted ALL the resources, and did not care whether we ever built a fb program. RC was a willing accomplice, and Shirley didn't care. Anyway, that's the theory.

It's funny that now that UK has their fb program rolling, Cal just last month tried another of his maneuvers demanding new facilities publicly. It fell flat. Stoops clapped back at him publicly, the school ignored his requests, and most of the fan base chastised him for it.

Every year they vastly overrate some SEC teams, this year Florida and Tennessee...and UK.
UK has had some weak OL play....will be tested against Ole Prius.

I suspect no one will ever duplicate the run Cal had here from 2006-2009.

Holding anyone to that standard will always be grossly unfair.
