I hope we charge them $2,000,000 for change of location and then go beat their ass.

RE: 2023 Missouri game
St. Louis is now playing the Memphis game of old.

They have a stadium with one in it so they are desperately trying to bring in two out-of-town teams in for the tourism money.

Stay home. Keep the money here.

If this game is moved, then we can count on future P5 opponents to do the same. Either play it here, or scrap it and take the buyout.

Mizzou will not bring many fans to Memphis & they aren’t going to motivate Memphis fans the way a State, Arkansas or Ole Miss would.

I'd rather play MTSU here than let Missouri dictate a game to us like they matter. They are in SEC but absolutely suck so you don't let them act like they have some power.

Veatch never says anything remotely interesting or insightful and is about as dynamic as a ham, cheese and mayonnaise sandwich left on a rock, in the middle of the desert for 3 days.

He doesn't sound or look as dumb as RC, but I haven't seen anything from him yet to show that he is any better.

NOTE:
He probably hasn't ripped off the school for hundreds of thousands of dollars yet, so there's that.

According to Evan B on twitter the buyout fee for the game is $250,000. I'm pretty sure Missouri could find that in the couch cushions in the athletic department's staff lounge.

If I were them I'd just cancel it, pay the fee, and move on. They can get someone else to go into Columbia and make that back easy.

Did you just imply Arky State motivates Memphis fan - comparable to Arky or Old Miss? They do not.

I agree that Mizzou is ho hum in name. So don't take the buyout to move it, unless it's a big'un. Try to move up one of the other contracted games (like Boise). If not, then try to get a series going with UCF, Houston, or Cincy.

Season tix struggled this year and will probably struggle further next year with the watered down conference. Taking away that home game isn’t going to help

I don’t think a home game with Missouri would cause an increase or decrease in season ticket buying

That would depend in part on who replaced them.

It would depend on whether it's replaced with a home or away game. Not the names, but the numbers.

Talking about the buyout to move the game to STL. That is not in the contract.

I think this contract was signed 10 years ago so things change in the world. Plus both sides have to agree to that number

If dealing with the CRAWFISHIN SEC-----we should ALWAYS HOST the first game -ala the MISTAKE series--first game was in MEMPHIS --or this will continue to happen------------------MEMPHIS gets first game --------------how many times has this happened in the past--too many--twice that I remember

It is remarkable how many years later his poor decisions continue to affect this school.
