Been this way for years, and for years, you complain if you don't get your preference.
When I lived out of town, I liked the 230 games.
Now I like them all.

i agree but I dont mind the 11 am games bc I can be back home at a decent hour. Getting too old for the late games and getting home around 1 30 am.

I don't mind getting home @ 1:30am if it saves me from a heat stroke... But that's just me. Later on... October? November? Love me some 2:30 and 11:00 games. Fo show.

Silly me.

I thought it was because we wanted to go head-to-head with the Ole Miss / Florida game.

Seems like the scheduling strategy of late is to schedule against the biggest area SEC game each week so we can show our dominance.

Nope. Want the extra time to prep. Doesn't seem like much but those few extra hours help w game planning and could mean the difference in a player being able to play after injury.

And this was told to me by an athletic dept. staff member.

Seriously? There are injuries that four hours are the critical difference over the span of a week? Maybe if someone lets loose rattlesnakes on the field. Sounds more like they wanted to get home early and cookout and watch a good football game. 03-lmfao

Come on man, enlighten me. That sounds like some BS

Let's say an 11am game ends at 2:30pm, and a 7pm game ends at 10:30pm. That's 8 extra hours of recovery, not 4. And if someone gets hurt near the end of the game they have all the time they need to work on it. It's not "try to get a good night's sleep and we'll follow up tomorrow".

My guess is they take the rest of Saturday off and then show up for prep on Sunday rather than taking Sunday off.

Of course that's right. The only real question is whether the poster is intentionally being obtuse, or whether there is something else at play here.

that kinds sounds like what I said. i dont think it makes that much difference in the grand scheme and sounds like an odd explanation. not a big deal either way

Wouldn’t the chance of injury be greater playing at 2:30 in 95 degree heat instead of playing at 6:00 when its 10 degrees cooler?

Swelling can go down in that time and allow a player to play. Especially w/ toradol. You have zero idea about rest and recovery when it comes to these issues. We have two OL with high ankle sprains that are getting treatment multiple times a day. 8 hours can mean all the difference in the world. Saw it when I played and see it all the time now.

dont like toradol, had a bad time with it. but wouldnt think a half a day over a week would matter, thats all. doesnt bother me either way. i have a little bit of an idea btw but defer to your expertise.

Talking about the 11am Temple game, followed by the Friday night Houston game.
Hence the thread title.
