Until recently it was against the law to carry concealed without a handgun permit here in TN.

I don’t believe in judgements but I do believe in things like basic training on the law and firearm safety.

I.e carry all you want like I do but there should be a minimum bar. I’ve had my permit for years and am thankful I had a good trainer who knew the law. I’ve had to actually explain the law to some Johnny Rambo wannabes who had bad trainers and didn’t do anything after the class other than blow through magazines of reloads at the range once in a while.

Before TN adopted constitutional carry it was a requirement that you at least tell the officer that you are legally armed. I was pulled over in Atoka by a cop I was familiar with so I didn't bother saying anything. He reamed me a new one for failing to tell him. That said I was also pulled over in Bartlett once, when I told him I was legally armed while handing him my permit and license he said "meh, I won't pull mine if you don't pull yours". We both had a good laugh at that.
