Exclamation If I were sports reporter on post game press conference…..
Me: It’s 4th and 4 on our own 37 yard line, we’re up 14. Why are we not punting that ball? What are we trying to prove coach? It didn’t work against Tulsa and Vanderbilt is better…..

Hammock: It would have been good had our players executed the play. We have to do a better job at excecuting.

Me: WTF03-banghead If you have no faith in our defense just say that…..

I’d ask - was your entire run game success dependent on Ratcovich?

It was such a dumb decision, and then they DID IT AGAIN later in the game. I like him, and he can recruit, really questioning if he and his staff should be running a program though.

Going for it on that 4th down was nothing short of completely stupid. Absolutely changed the entire game. This loss is on Hammock.

And went for it twice deep in our own territory leading by 14 and 7 points with Hampton and not Rocky at QB.

I get the idea about the D being bad and getting the 1st down wanting to keep our D off the field. The choice is try for the 1st down (and if you don't make it giving the other team a short field) or punt and make the other team's O drive a long field. For me I would rather make the other team's O drive the long field instead instead of giving them a short field.

"Coach, your team is up by 14 points. Why did you dig your own hole and bury your team in it?"

"Coach, did Vandy beat you or did you beat yourself?"

No one wants to say it but our Running Backs lack toughness and we miss Ducker. Waylee does not look like the pre-injury version of himself and Brown has not been getting tough yards up the middle. Part of it is blocking but part of it is a lack of toughness on the part of our RBs.

I mentioned this in another post but if you remove each RBs longest rush from each game then none of them are averaging over 2.7 YPC. For a team that prides itself on their run game, it's been pretty pathetic so far.

Doesn’t Brown look tiny? Maybe it’s the pads he wears but he has little girl shoulders. He was supposed to be our “bruising” back.

Ducker is averaging 7.4 yards per rush and has more yards than Waylee and Blakemore

I'd ask him what he thinks the probability of success is on a 4th and 4 when most of our offensive plays have gone for fewer yards than that, and what he thinks the probability is of the opponent scoring from our 20 yard line after the 4th down conversion fails.

I was afraid we would miss Ducker more than many on here thought. Though it could be mostly Ratkovich that we're missing.

We definitely miss Ratdog more. There’s a reason Hammock loved him. He wasn’t that great of a runner but can block his ass off and catch out of the backfield.
