The ex AAC schools joining the Big 12 are going to have a lot of fun in that conference…

You'd think he was talking about Clemson LOL. Dana's a defeated man.

This is true. Very good FB coach. I wish we had taken him instead of Carey when we had the opportunity.

Rice proved last night they are capable of beating a team like Houston.

I do have some concerns about how to deal with a wounded Cougar, she will not be in a good mood next week.

I guess our goal should be for Dana to be comparing us to Alabama after next week.

Holgorsen is massively overrated. Always has been. Outside of that first year at WVU when he split the conference title three ways he’s won nothing.

It is a disappointing loss, but the season is young. There will be more opportunities for victories (hopefully not against Memphis).

Kansas is good enough to be 3-0 against Dana Holgerson’s past- present- and future-teams!

Don't write off Houston yet. They may be nothing nationally but the AAC is not very good. They might rip off a bunch of AAC wins like they did last year.

Houston, you have a problem.

Losing to Kansas in your house? It's one thing to sh1t the bed sometimes, but that doesn't justify wiping your @ss with the sheets afterwards.

You guys got lucky against UTSA, were unlucky against TTU, and now THIS.

Try to beat Rice Saturday. Damn.

You guys host Tulane on Oct. 1. The Wave is 3-0 and will be favored against Southern Miss at Yulman this Saturday. The odds are that you probably will be facing an undefeated Green Wave team.

When he said “we need better players” after losing at home to Kansas by 18…. He might as well just quit now. What player on that team is going to want to play for him?

Houston had the benefit of a very weak schedule this year and has already managed to Coog it. Holgerson is an experienced coach but it is not clear to me that he enjoys the respect of his players. And there is a reason for that. He seems like a miserable person to be around. And I don’t think UH’s donors or its administrators will permit Holgs to be around much longer.

Two things it will be interesting to see:
1) Who else does Kansas beat?

2) Who is in next weekend’s sideline Steel cage match.

Houston just extended his contract by 6 years and $26.7 million in March, so moving on would be quite expensive.

Beat West Virginia and Houston, both on the road and hung over 40 on both. Pretty damn respectable I'd say, things change.

yea but he also said that in 3 to 4 years a lot of guys on the team now will be better than they are now......3 to 4 years 03-lmfao03-drunk03-ideaCOGS02-13-banana

maybe he could speed up the process if he just redshirts like 75% of the team this year and gets ready for Big 12 play instead 04-bow03-idea03-cloud9

It's funny, but in 11 full seasons (this is #12) as a HC at a major program, Holgorsen has won one conference title, and that was a 3-way tie in the Big East his very first season. And he's won an NY6 bowl - also in his very first season.

So in the 10 seasons since that magical first one, he's won nothing IMO worth mentioning. And yet, IIRC, he's never really been on the hot seat at any point in time either.

He has this ability to be meh, thus never truly intolerably bad, posting 8-5 type records, then once every five years he wins 10+ games, and it is like the ticking clock is re-set on him in terms of any pressure.

It's been a neat trick, IMO.
