Yep - after evaluating Powell the first two games we’re a 4 win team. I suspect if things go south quickly today, we should see Cam McCoy. I know Cam is a true freshman but Smith is not an accurate QB. We need 50 yds rushing from QB position.

Cow, you and I share the same thoughts. EMU functioned pretty much as a Triple A team where Ben polished his skills before returning to the "show" and it pisses me off.

Nevertheless, loyalty is indeed a two-way street. Hutch waited two years to get his chance at Eastern and I think he acquitted himself well starting in the COVID season. Bryant, however, was marginally better in my opinion and given the starting job despite Hutchison's prior commitment to EMU. Bryant did what he felt was best for him and then Coach and Preston did the same.

The world has seismically changed and while I don't like it, I must accept it or find some other diversion rather than NCAA sports.

Not so fast. Powell was recruited by Mizzou and actually played some. He also did well at a very solid mid-major Troy until getting injured. Give the kid a chance. We all were unimpressed with Bryant last season. The guy was a statue. Hutchinson didn't want to stay, so be it. I am glad we have Powell. Let's let it play out.

Regarding options, we have 6 sacks already and the worst Rush offense in the MAC. If we start playing badly, I would like to see a mobile QB (not Smith) in there and see if we can get some rush offense going with a QB who has mobility.

I’ll state that at least let’s see a mobile QB so we have options if needed. Hopefully Powell is ok and we have a 1-2 punch moving forward.
