RE: Gov Abbott sends migrants to VP residence
It is totally cool seeing all of these alleged "sanctuary cities" being exposed in such a public manner when they DO get a few illegal aliens.

They are all just a bunch of preening elitists that MISTAKENLY believed the illegal alien issue would always stay down in those four border states. It's easy to TALK A GOOD GAME when you know your city will never have to answer the bell.

Both Abbott and DeSantis just p1ssed in the Cheerios of these fraud sanctuary cities. When those buses and planes arrived.....you dropped your act and cried like the pretenders that you truly are.

Choke on your pathetic BULLS HIT charade, you blathering fools.

They embraced each other and locals before boarding buses provided by state and local government for their journey to the base.

Joint Base Cape Cod -- already an emergency shelter designated by the state emergency management agency -- is set up to provide "a safe temporary accommodation appropriate for the needs of families and individuals," the governor's office said in a release.

The migrants "will be housed in dormitory-style spaces at JBCC, with separate spaces accommodating both individuals and families," and families will not be separated, the release reads.

They will have access to services including legal, health care, food, hygiene kits, and crisis counseling, according to Baker's office.

Baker lauded a temporary shelter that the Martha's Vineyard community set up for the migrants in "a moment of urgent need."

"We are grateful to the providers, volunteers and local officials that stepped up on Martha's Vineyard over the past few days to provide immediate services to these individuals," Baker said in a news release.
The migrants sent to Martha's Vineyard will be voluntarily taken to a military base for shelter and support

I understand you're excited about this, Tom... as it has pushed the problem off of the liberal people of the state of Massachusets... and put it on the Federal government which isn't a 'bad' idea....

But this never happened when all of those people were being allowed (by the FEDERAL government, I might add) in to Texas and other often more 'conservative' (and often less wealthy) places... and only happened when it became a burden on Martha's Vineyard and the elite.

So while you complained about the 'waste' of money by sending these people, obviously it worked.... and it places the burden where it belongs... on the feds who are responsible for the border... and NOT on the state or local municipalities, who are not.

I mean seriously, Tom... what facility like a military base does the Governor have to house these people? Prisons are about the only thing, and you'd lose your MIND if anyone suggested converting a prison to temporary housing for illegals.

And we will see how this works out once they start to seek jobs or what have you. It could be GREAT as bases are secure so no exploitation by people outside the group, and they are also secure 'leaving' meaning that we have time to vet these people, or at least see how they act once they arrive, find out their goals etc before we just put them in to society without a plan.

WELL DONE Desantis and Abbott for FINALLY getting the Feds to manage the problem they created... at least for now.

Never figured you for the "useful idiot" set, but here we are.

Yea well here's the thing:

The border states are fighting a problem that the leader of the country has facilitated. By default it is a problem for the country not just Texas and NM, and Arizona.

There are many, many places in our country who have said illegal immigrants are welcome. Let's say for the sake of argument that instead of flying these people all over the country, that these immigrants instead found their way up to DC and NYC etc.... by simply making (continuing really) the same journey north to these cities as they did from South America to our border. Clearly they are not afraid to do just that.

Now what is your answer? Now what is the answer from the mayor's of all these cities? Is it Ok now, or no?

As more and more people flood our border cities, eventually they will need to move more north to find services and shelter and a job. Do you think what I am saying above is not possible?

Biden is ignoring the border because in his reality, it is only affecting a "few" places on the border. Now that these governors are sharing the wealth, this problem affecting our "country" is really affecting our whole country as it really should be.

My Governor (Charlie Baker) called out Biden for this over the weekend, and I would not be surprised if more government representation from northern state don't start doing the same - you know now that their cities who claim they support immigrants now actually have to support them. Biden's hand is going to be forced if more leadership up north start calling for something to be done.

As for "not the issue", the issue is that the LAW is not being enforced. I guess we should not be surprised about this since enforcement of almost anything is not really a thing right now.

Tom states that nobody has set policy (conveniently spreading the blame over bipartisan channels.....) Wrong... The stated IMMIGRATION LAW is policy. Trump tried to enforce it, Biden has all but run away from it.

Hey, how many illegal immigrants does California have? How about New York? New Jersey? Illinois? Have you even bothered to do an ounce of research?

RE: Gov Abbott sends migrants to VP residence
To cut to the chase on this illegal immigration "debate" - Biden* is POTUS and owns ALL of it. His disastrous policies have resulted in the most illegal immigrants crashing the US border on his watch. This is clearly by design.

Go check the statistics at the CBP site:

U.S. Border Patrol Total Encounters (note the fiscal year {FY} begins Oct 1):
FY17 310,531 (Began 10/1/16 and ended 9/30/17)
FY18 404,142 - numbers under Trump (avg 33,678/month)
FY19 859,501 - numbers under Trump (avg 71,625/month)
FY20 405,036 - numbers under Trump (avg 33,753/month)
FY21 1,662,167 (Biden* becomes POTUS 1/20/21; 3 months and 20 days into FY)

So we need to check the months in FY21 when Trump was POTUS and then when Biden* was POTUS to align the totals with the specific POTUS:
Trump - Oct 69,105 Nov 69,261 Dec 71,197 Jan 75,360 Total is 284,923
Biden - Feb through Sept Total is 1,377,244; average of 172,155 each month
Reference - https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/cbp-e...ics-fy2021

FY22 1,822,160 (YTD through August 2022)

In FY22, the USA has tolerated an AVERAGE of 165,651 illegal alien encounters each month. The FY22 total will end up around 1,990,000 encounters....almost an unheard of 2m illegal aliens crossing the US southern border under this pathetic, Alzheimer's impacted POTUS*.

Even Jeh Johnson, Border Patrol boss under Obama, assigns the blame to Biden* saying "it is unsustainable".

Biden* OWNS this disgraceful neglect of the US southern border.
