ULM has played 6 SWAC teams, 1 DI transition team & 1 first-year program. The final non-conference match tonight is against another SWAC team. Pretty sure with a win they will clinch the SWAC regular season title.

USM had played 5 SEC teams (Alabama, Auburn, LSU, MS State, Ole Miss). Needless to say the ladies are battle tested headed into conference. All games were close with the exception of the Auburn game.

Yeah. Don't put too much into that record. Although they are winning most of those handily, it is still against inferior talent. Still, I think this team is top half of conference. How the SWAC games prepare us, I don't know.

Last year we won our division and played for the CUSA title in the postseason tournament. Maybe the SEC gauntlet will help with SBC play.

How can we have such a glaring difference between men's and women's soccer? I mean get Grassie to select a coach for the women and quit mucking about. It's shameful, really.

I'm guessing there are a lot more girl's teams, due to Title IX, so therefore more competition for players.

But the men are beating the #2 team in the nation and the women are last place in the east. Number of teams shouldn't keep us from getting a coach that can win and recruits that can make that happen. What's the point of title IX if we're going to just let them wither on the vine? Grassie knows soccer. He certainly knows someone that can make the women better and needs a job. I'm saying use what's at our disposal.

Last 3 games were against good teams in North Texas (perennial conference title contender), Rice (CUSA title favorite) and TCU (Top 25 team). Those make up for the earlier non-conference games.

App women end with another draw last night. Need those Ws but this is an improvement from last year
