I wouldn't write off Tobias Cameron, our 6'5" 210 lbs GR guard. I am not sure how they will exactly use him though.

One of the more talented players in the group I listed above is Utah Valley's Trey Woodbury. Much of the Wolverines offense ran through him two seasons ago when UVU won a share of the WAC Championship. In 2020-21 he averaged 15.6 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 3.8 apg... leading the team in scoring, assists and 3-pointers made.

If we're talking about assists then we can write off PGs from the lower half of the WAC, since assists don't happen without shooters.

1. Jovan Blacksher
2. Whoever NMSU decides to start
3. The others

I can only talk about the players I’ve seen. And from that group, these are the players I enjoy watching play the most. Whether they are the “best” or not, well, I still like watching them…

Trey Woodbury is definitely the top of my list. Taran Armstrong is close behind. Cam Gooden was fun to watch get better last season and I feel like he will be much improved again this season.

I have only seen Hagen Wright on video and he played a very limited season last year at Snow, but he’s a nice player. Not sure he’ll be at the point at UT, but he is a 6’5 guy with a big wingspan for the backcourt and grabs a lot of rebounds. He reminds me of Connor Harding from UVU last season that transferred from BYU. Wright is a typical Judkins style player. Incidentally, coach Judkins signed a contract extension at UT and will be around even longer.

Me personally, I would have to see more of his game today. He had a good season on that “Covid Year”, then was hurt last year. It’s hard to write him off because of what he did that one year but it’s also hard to put him on top because he hasn’t done anything since that year.

Woodbury benefited a lot from Fardaws Aimaq. Question about Woodbury is can he get his and carry the UVU team as their 1st option?

Taj Small should take on the JJ Overton role (from two years ago) but unless one of Madsen's bigs blossom into another Aimaq, the center position will be filled by committee... Tim Fuller, Tim Ceaser, and Aziz Bandaogo. Nevertheless, Trey Woodbury should be the Wolverines best player this season. Blaze Nield should be UVU's starting PG but Woodbury will give Madsen another good facilitator in the starting lineup.
