Easy to spend other people's money.

Now I find the order unreliable as Frost was #50.

I kinda took that to mean that he was below the ones still on the hot seat and those they deemed safe for now. Seems like it would have be clearer to put him in spot #1 and then list the others

He has been fired, so he is no longer on the hot seat...that's what they do for all fired coaches throughout a given year.

Well, his last name is Frost so I imagine his arse cheeks have cooled quite a bit.

On another note, sorry Marcus. #6. The only ND coach to begin 0-3 and he makes $7.5M. There's time to right the ship but Dear Lord if he loses to 2-0 California on Saturday.

Agreed if he loses to Cal the calls for his job will legitimately start. Luckily ND's first two games under Freeman where a big bowl game against a legit opponent Oklahoma St. and Ohio State in which they covered the line.

Yes, Marshall stinks when taking ND's perspective and if they don't beat Cal with much high level players then it's warranted IMO outside QB play.

Two things Freeman has in his corner at the moment.
1) ND bowl record blows since 2000 (6-11) and last year would have given them their biggest bowl win since 2000 and they lost by 2 which is far more competitive than all their other big bowl games.
- Losses are all their big bowl games:
Fiesta Bowl, Gator Bowl, Insight.com Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Sugar Bowl, Champs Sports Bowl, BCS Championship, Fiesta Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Rose Bowl, Fiesta Bowl

- Wins are mostly considered trash bowls for ND
Hawaii Bowl, Sun Bowl, Pinstripe Bowl, Music City Bowl, Citrus Bowl, Camping World Bowl

2) Hard to fire a coach when you have one of if not the best recruiting classes ND has seen since 2000 and he's not coaching his guys although he is responsible for bringing in most of their so called high level players under Kelly as of late as well.
- #4 Team Ranking on 247

RE: CFB Coaching Carousel 2022
First year records of recent ND coaches...

2010 Brian Kelly 8-5
2005 Charlie Weis 9-3
2002 Ty Willingham 10-3
1997 Bob Davie 7-6

ND's remaining schedule...

California
@UNC
N BYU
Stanford
UNLV
@Syracuse
Clemson
N Navy
Boston College
@USC

Assume UNC, BYU, Cuse, Clemson and USC are losses...that totals 7 with the 0-2 start. That's why I'm saying if they lose to California that really puts them in a hole for the remainder of the season. Not having a QB is a real issue but so is letting Marshall run on you for over 200 yards.

UNC just barely beat Georgia State 35-28 and Appy State put up 61 on them the week before. I think Notre Dame beats Cal, the Tarheels, Stanford, UNLV, Navy and BC for sure. I think Syracuse is a toss up. I think their floor is 6-6 with a possibly of 7-5 with a win at Syracuse.

I dunno Clifton. You're more favorable to that schedule than I am. The game in Chapel Hill is no gimme. That stadium will be electric and North Carolina can score points. In fact, the Tar Heels avg. 51.3 PPG - 6th in FBS. Notre Dame [with no QB] average 15.5 PPG - good for 117th.

You have to remember Scott Frost is a favorite son. Also, they can use this gesture to indicate to future candidates -- it's not about the money but the results.

I for one think the Nebraska job is very attractive. They showed with Frost they are willing to give a long leash. Really had a poor reputation after Bo Pelini quick yank.

i'm curious to what makes the nebraska job so attractive to you? i'm 43 and probably the age group that last saw nebraska in its powerhouse status. Honestly, there's a good chance the next HC will be my age or older so they'll like have those same memories. That said, i can't imagine the recruits these days know anything about those teams or all the history that give them their blue blood status. Outside of getting a big check from the conference, i can't say that there's too much about their program that is all that attractive.

Nebraska is a terrible job. The fans are lunatics, they fire coaches for winning 9 games, and players don’t want to go there. Tom Osborne is not walking through that door.

Nebraska will open up the check book. Their fans are fanatics. Their stadium sells out at 90,000. No eyeball competition from anything else in the region. Recruiting is pretty good if you look at the rankings [247 Sports]...

I've interacted with Nebraska fans at games a few times, when I went with Ohio State and Colorado buddies. They couldn't have been nicer folks. Passionate, knowledgeable, and patient even in the face of the ******* CU fans.

The fans are great until a coach has a 75% winning percentage but they demand he be fired.

Fwiw Bo Pelini was fired for being an a-hole, but for his w/l record. If you notice no other FBS school hired him as HC since.

The Solich firing was worse but there was other stuff going on with him as well. I don't think Nebraska has been particularly unreasonable with coaches. They've just made some bad hires. I think Frost was the only guy they hired after Pelini that made sense. Didn't work but it made sense.

Nebraska fans are to football what UK fans are to basketball. Known a couple of them.
