They were two Top 10 teams in the same week. Get over it. Something the AAC has never done and if they had the fans hear would be claiming P6.
We also have to Consider Cincinnati's win over Notre Dame happened in early October. At a point in the season when teams have really shown who they are and have had to demonstrate it for a while. The wins over top 10 teams in week 2 of this year are Impressive, but we are still at the popularity point of rankings season. No one has had to earn their rankings yet. I do hope that the Sunbelt teams that won last weekend have great seasons. But that's because I feel all P5 programs are overrated and football played at the G5 level has proven time and time again to be just as good as the P5 product. Especially by the top tier of G5 schools.
Since you mentioned the game, all credit to Cincy for beating ND last year - nobody else did so until the very end of the season in a bowl game - but Cincy was very fortunate that ND was undefeated when they played. ND could have had not one but two losses going in to the Cincy game, they were fortunate to beat FSU, and extraordinarily fortunate to beat Toledo. Toledo basically had their game won and somehow botched it at the end.
Heck, they were extremely fortunate to beat VT the week after they lost to Cincy.
Cincy was very lucky that ND ended up being a perfect reputation-game for them.

I would like to see an App State vs Memphis or App State vs SMU game. The AAC is certainly not dead.
Look forward to the game next year. It's been a long time since I've been to Boone. I was at the game in Charlotte.
My wife and I plan to stay in Blowing Rock and come over to the game on Saturday. Looking for a tip. How's the parking and do they have any shuttles? My wife broke her knee in 3 places last year and we have to take time for her walking. Thanks for any thoughts.

Yeah, well USF could use some luck too. A lot of it...

We have to make our own luck. Since the Fall of 2011, going on 11 years now, USF has been in a long downward slide, interrupted for two years by Taggart majick.
I admire Cincy for the way you guys dug yourselves out of the depression of being left behind in the AAC. That had to be as crushing to you as it was (and remains) for us.
USF was in the same boat but we have been unable to do the same. Of the three Big East left behind amigos, only you were able to do it. UConn, like us, remains lost in the wilderness, though a better part of it than us.

I was getting a jab in because you brought up the luck factor and ND's "easy" schedule last year in multiple threads on the Conference Realignment Board. You've kinda driven those points into the ground and managed to bring it up again in an "AAC has died" thread LOL.
That said, I have no ill will toward you or USF. In fact, I hope that USF can get the facilities they need together with a good coach. I remember those Big East battles with USF - in particular in Tampa that would cause us fits. USF kicked our arses a few times when Senator Tuberville was at the helm. It's a shame that trajectory didn't continue past Taggart. All you can do is keep pushing forward and have a little LUCK go your way.

The SBC and USF both suck. Fair? Fair.

Agree. And once the college playoffs implement the 6+6 format I will be rooting for the top ranked G5 that gets in to represent, regardless of conference. And that should demonstrate how close good G5 teams are to P5 teams.
Of course I would love to see App State take a shot at it sooner than later. :)
Agreed.
But don’t forget to root for the *second* top-ranked G5 that gets in, too! (Sorry, PAC)
…
Also, sorry, SBC, since it’ll probably be an MWC & AAC!!

I will definitely miss you guys next year. USF and Cincy have played 19 straight seasons dating back to 2003. We've played as part of CUSA, the Big East and the AAC. The game on October 8 will the be the 20th in a row, but sadly probably the last.
Regarding the outcomes, as Steve Spurrier once said about his rivalry with Bobby Bowden when Spurrier was at Florida, we got him a few times, he got us a few times more, or something like that.
It's been a good series.
