Tyler Buchner suuuuuuuuuucks. Dewn Pine suuuuuuuuucks even worse. Those guys are the offensive savant's fault.

Freeman was the D coordinator. Their D held O$U to 21. That's not the problem.

He has every right to say "GOOD GRIEF PEOPLE!! MY QB's BLOW" but he'd never say that. They'll give him a couple of years to get some offensive firepower in there.

Yeah. While beating ND last year was big for UC, Marshall doing the same thing to ND this year takes a little of the shine off of it.

That was ND's only regular season loss, though.

Not to take away from Marshall's road win - this isn't the same ND team as last season. Their remaining schedule is brutal. They may struggle to finish .500 this season.

They almost made the playoffs last year…no comparison

If Fick wanted to be the head coach of Notre Dame, he would be. He easily could have interviewed for that job last year and gotten it. He chose not to. The only other job he wants is tO$U.

Chad mentioned on one of his podcasts that ND's QB would be 4th or 5th sting at UC. They absolutely need some QB help.

Bolded, agreed.

Regarding OSU, I have no personal knowledge of his interest or lack thereof, but he must have memories of the pressure (and the wrath) of the Buckeye faithful during his interim season there and he's felt the love of UC and the Cincinnati community the past five years for what he's built here.

If it's all about money, sure, he'd go. His money will only get better in the Big 12 but frankly, he's never seemed to put money first in his priorities. One could argue, he's now the greatest football coach in UC history. Our Frank Beamer? Build the IPF and give him the resources of a P5 conference and this may be home for a long time.

Frank Beamer
Kirk Ferentz
Gary Patterson
Mike Gundy
Pat Fitzgerald
Kyle Whittingham

Many examples of coaches and the right long term fit at their respective programs. Hopefully, with our inclusion to the B12, Big Fick can join that list.

Hard to argue otherwise. I thought Drew Pyne was clearly their best QB last year and have no idea why so much time has been wasted on Coan and Buchner when they could otherwise be competing.

Coan was significantly better then Pine despite the uc game.

Different year different team. UC ended their home win streak. Only reg season loss in 2021.

I cannot see Amy and Luke being associated with a future replacement of Marcus.

MF is killing it on the recruiting trail and building a culture. No way they get rid of him this quickly.

I'm convinced Ohio State is the only job in FBS that he would take. UC lifer otherwise.

Time will tell if CLF is one of these guys; but IMHO there is more value going down as a legend at a school than hoping for a job at random P5 schools for 4-5 years where they already have their own legends in place. Don Nehlen hasn't coached at WVU for 22 years but he is revered in the state, in Morgantown and when the school's name come up his name is intertwined.

Old news as it was announced mid August.
