Middle Tennessee (who still in the conference) leads Colorado State at the half on the road 27-0. That's a nice bounce-back from them after getting drilled last week 44-7 by James Madison (who by the way is coached by Curt Cignetti, a former Rice QB coach under Jerry Berndt. Cignetti's father Frank Sr. - a member of the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach - passed away earlier today at the age of 84).

Wonder if Curt would have any interest in the Rice job when Bloomgren moves on or is moved on.

Probably not, JMU is probably a better job, and I'm not sure how good a fit he would be. But he is a former Rice assistant who has gone on to bigger and better things.

So sorry to learn of his father's passing. The Cignettis are an impressive coaching family.

Appalachian State tied with aTm 14-14 late in 3rd. Ags have never led in this game. Not what Jimbo had in mind.

The only stats TAMU lead in, not in a good way, are turnovers and penalty yards. Ags are lucky to be tied at 14.

If it was a golf shot, the Aggies 47-yard FG attempt to tie the game with 3:43 left was hit WAY FAT (the way I hit far too many iron shots). No height and barely got to the goal line, much less the end line. Wow!!

Cougar High now tied with TT at 17.

And Appy State about to nail the lid on the coffin at aTm. 2 seconds left, Appy ball, 4th down, up 17-14. Just run something to kill 2 seconds.

ETA: Now final. So both Texas members of the SEC lose--one probably considered a good effort, the other definitely not.

Incarnate Word up 38-17 at Nevada midway in the 3rd. Program started in 2009 and this is the second season for Eric Morris. Morris was the OC at Texas Tech and recruited Patrick Mahomes. Looks like an amazing hire.

Morris has moved on to OC at Wazzu (who beat Wisky today). Per Wikipedia, HC at UIW is now G.J. Kinne.

You are right. Still looks like a good hire and had some really good stops on his assistant coaching stops.

I think you'd put both as good hires to date.

Thought that name looked familiar - QB at Tulsa in the late 2000s.

The comments are worth a read!

Too bad he didn’t get blasted by a player, although the cops did a pretty good job of taking him down. Geaux Tigers.

Not easy, or nice, to win by 13 in OT.

I was at Canvas Stadium for CSU vs. MTSU. Like most others, I left at half-time. It was cold, wet, and CSU were terrible (on both sides of the ball). Credit to MTSU though. They were well disciplined and effective. This was as much an MTSU win, as it was an abject failure for the Rams.
