Yes - just off the top of my head, Michigan-Ohio State and the Wisconsin-ND game in Chicago had both last year. I’m fairly sure there are others.

I heard they’re going to fight Anchorman-style.

I love how Sarkisian is saying that this game doesn't have to define them. He's basically waving the white flag early.

Its pretty stupid to base your season on one game. It leads to a down in the next week, win or lose. Sark probably learned that from Saban.
In any event, Alabama has only lost one regular season game outside the SEC West since 2007, to South Carolina in 2010, and only 12 regular season games total in 15 years.

Agreed

Texas went toe to toe with the 2019 LSU team and it meant nothing for them in the long run

One of the things I remember most vividly about our early years in the SEC was the absolute grind and attrition that programs had to deal during the course of a season. When you play LSU, you feel it the next day. And the next week. When you play LSU, then follow that up with OU and another ranked team from the big 12, you're really gonna feel it. Same for any SEC west team, you play alabama, maybe you play them tough or even win, but then you're so beaten up that you lose to LSU and Auburn in back to back weeks. It's just brutal.

I love when this happens. It's interesting to see where each show it set up, who has the bigger crowds, etc.

This made no sense when I read this... I thought they had to be at a location where their network is covering the game. Definitely news to me.

They often go to a game ESPN isn't carrying. I didn't know what Big Noon Kickoff was until I saw this thread. Pretty dumb name considering the game kicks off at 11:00 in Austin.

ESPN person saying on the field it's 111 degrees right now 20 minutes before the game.

Alabama/Texas was on Fox.
I don't think ESPN understands how this game is played.

It isn't 111 degrees in the entire country. And if it means one less week when it's not 30 degrees in other parts of the country like Pennsylvania and Illinois, I'll take it.

The CFP people want two extra Playoff weeks so would I rather tack an additional week onto January when it's cold or additional week onto August? Now I know the National Championship Game is probably going to be played either indoors or down south where it's warm but I really don't want to spend the entire month thinking about college football or midweek college football semifinal games. I'd rather just add a game to August when those games will likely be FCS-G5 pillow fights that I can ignore for the most part (this past week excluded of course).
