That advances are turning into a route of Russian forces based on the disorganized retreat by the Russians. Just hope that the ukrainians don't overextend.... although this surprise to the overwhelmed Russians may not be such a surprise to the Ukrainian military. The plan all along may have been to lure Russian forces to the South and attack in the east with the help of Western NATO eyes in the skies. What a turn of events. Just hope this can be sustained.

Images flooding social media showed Ukrainian forces within the city of Izium and Russian observers of the conflict said there were initial reports Moscow’s army had already withdrawn.

Retaking Izium is perhaps Ukraine’s most significant success in pushing back the Russians since the beginning of the invasion.

Izium has for centuries been regarded as the gateway to the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine and, from there, to the Black Sea. The Russians called the area around it Izium passage.

This war and money being spent is exactly what are politicians want. They want to wage war by proxy against Russia in hopes to weaken the country to a point where they are no longer much a threat to anyone but themselves. They don't care about how many lives are lost as long as their mission is successful. And the longer it goes on and the more Russian military equipment and personnel are lost the more successful the campaign is regardless of territory.
