A 15-second pitch clock with the bases empty and a 20-second clock with runners on
Two disengagements from the rubber -- including pickoff attempts -- per plate appearance
A requirement by hitters to be in the batter's box and "alert" with eight seconds to go on the clock. Hitters are allowed one timeout per plate appearance
Only two infielders will be allowed on each side of second base, with all four required to be on the dirt (or inner grass)
Infielders cannot position themselves on the outfield grass before the pitch is thrown
Bases will increase in size from 15 inches squared to 18

It'll be interesting to see after they get approved tomorrow(which is expected)- if as teams fall out of contention we see teams start playing defense with no shifts to start to get used to the new rules. It to me would make a ton of sense.

I go to some Triple A games here in Memphis where they've been enforcing the potential new rules. It has sped the game up and shaved about 25 minutes off. You really don't even notice it. I'm all for it.

I like all of them except the disengagement rules. I think that will become more problematic at the major league level. I guess we'll see. I LUV that the shift will be gone. Players can still play up towards the middle, but on their side of the bag. It gives the defenders and the batters a fair choice of what they wish to do, without unfairly screwing the batters over as the shift does (sure, he can try to lob a soft single the other way, but his power is the his preferred side. Now the batter can attempt to slightly re-direct his legit hit to the gap created by a middle infielder playing towards the middle and if he can he has a hole to get his legit hit through. Defenders make a choice, hitter makes an adjustment but all players back to playing their actual positions.Lastly they need to alter the extra-inning ghost runner rules. Either start it in the 12th inning or at least have the ghost runner start from first base not second in the 10th until the 12th inning. Seems more reasonable than such a severe alteration all at once.

Timing stuff is mostly good but I don’t like the rubber disengagement rule. Desperate for more SBs I guess.

Ending the shift is stupid.

I liked what I heard someone say about the shifting. It's still going to be allowed, but there's a lot more risk for it than ever before. Going to require an OF to be moved to really shift now. Which would open things up for a lot more doubles.

Saw that Corey Seager would have 25 more hits this year with the new rules they're projecting.

Full shift- 77.1%
partial shift- 74.0%
no shift 72.4%

partial shift is the one where you have your ss playing at 2b basically and 2b playing on the infield.
