Temple and Lafayette actually shared the same conference from 1958-1969, both playing in the Middle Atlantic Conference, until Temple became independent prior to the 1970 season. They last played in 1965, when Temple defeated Lafayette 27-12 at Temple Stadium (yes, Temple used to have their own stadium - need another one!) so this will be the first matchup in 57 years.

If Temple doesn't manage to pull off a win in this one, a winless season seems like a real possibility. That said, Lafayette is not an FCS power and won their opener against Sacred Heart just 6-0, so this should be an opportunity for the Owls to start clicking under new HC Stan Drayton's schemes before next week's homecoming game against Rutgers.

Temple’s offense has to produce this week. Lafayette held last weeks opponent scoreless albeit they were also FCS. The question is can the offense be productive? What we saw against Duke was more of what we have seen for the last 3 years. Drayton and Co. need to figure out how to run pass and score. Sounds easy right?

Oh great now we got two Temple game threads.

I still like the new “rules” but this is the downside…

This may have been the first Temple thread, but how can it be legit if it doesn't have the correct start time for the game?

The most important thing for Temple is that EJ Warner emerged as a quality passing QB who is able to put points on the board. The next challenge is to establish him as a QB who can help move the team on the ground more effectively.
