Honestly, we just aren’t that good on offense. UTSA out gained us.

We’ve switched from wanting points to wanting to eat up clock. And we aren’t built like Alabama to do that

Our fans are under the impression that our football team is better than it actually is.

Tough loss. I like your team and glad you're coming with us and UCF. I don't like your coach. That said, didn't you guys lose to TT last season and then went on to win the rest of your regular season games?

Yeah something about beating tech alludes us. This is the 2nd time in a row we giftwrapped a game for them. Overall I think our team is good minus the prevent defense. In both games they've come up straight grabage.

So you're talking trash about Houston, yet your school lost to Houston last week at home when Houston was playing a terrible game?

Not sure I understand your logic. Sounds like you're declaring UTSA AAC champions already. lol.

Don't really think you understand probability or OT but whatever.

4th and ******* 20 isn’t a coin flip. It’s defense wet the bed and blew the coverage.

I think he means the law of averages. Not one isolated play. Big plays happened with both teams throughout the game.

You won in triple overtime last week. I'm sure the team you beat could pick out one isolated play in the game that could have changed the outcome.

The win probability of a 4th and 20 with the lead in OT is probably like 99% or something significant. Also having the lead with less than 40 seconds left is also probably high. Two games in a row this has happened. I don't even think probability wise, OT is a "coin flip". The issue is not being able to close the game, not the law of averages.

According to ESPN's Win Probability calculator, when TT snapped the ball on 4th and 20 the Coogs had a 94.6% chance of winning.

No one said the issue isn't closing the game. In fact thats kind of my point. The game should've never gotten to OT. You're getting yourself worked up for zero reason.

In terms of style, I like Holgorsen, have since he arrived at WV in 2010. That was a big story on the old Big East board at the tim. But ... IMO his coaching record is pretty mixed. He has had two undeniable years, a great year in 2011 at WV, and a very good year in 2021 for Houston. In between? A lot of mediocre and barely above average seasons. In the 10 years since he famously won the Big East title and the Orange Bowl vs Clemson, he's won two other bowls, the Cactus Bowl and last year's Birmingham Bowl. That's not exactly making a lot of post-season noise. And zero conference titles during that time either.

IIRC, he's 20-16 at Houston, including 1-4 mark against A5 schools. The one win coming over a 6-6 Auburn team last year. At a lot of places, IMO a coach with a $4m a year salary and that record would be on a hot seat. But he isn't at Houston, and IIRC never really was at WV either.

Ive given him a pass on the year one mess with a depleted roster he inherited and the weird 2020 year where we had our first 4 or 5 games of the year cancelled putting his squad developmentally weeks behind every team we played that year. Last year was fun---but the schedule was one of the weakest in the nation. This year was supposed to be a big step forward. From what Ive seen---the overall talent level is athletically improved---we did not appear to be outclassed talent wise by either of our opponents thus far---though we still have a below average OL. We are making too many dumb mistakes (easily avoidable things like undisciplined personal fouls and taunting penalties). That said---last year we improved as the year wore on and thats what I look for as a big indicator of a reasonably competent staff. We will see if that trend holds this year as well.
