Bichelmeyer finally enters the action toward the end of the second set and immediately records our first solo block.

25-13, 2nd set. Carly with an awesome save. Literally throwing her body.

McNeese is definitely outblocking us. Rice down 1-6 in the 3rd.

Genny starting the 3rd set with a couple subs, and McNeese immediately jumps out to a 1-6 lead, with 4 blocks and an ace. Embarrassing.

3-6 and there has only been once combined kill so far. Error after error.

And Anota has yet to check in this set. VERY sloppy play on both sides.

13-11 Maruska gets her first kill since the first set. She's now 3 kills (5 errors) in 16 attempts, but at least she's contributing on the defensive end with 13 digs.

Anota still hasn't played in this set.

Probably won't see her. We do have 4 matches this week. I'm sure Genny is trying to spread the time so we will be rested for Texas Tech. Johnson checks in for Maruska, 18-13.

19 - 12 after back to back kills by Kostelecky, and a kill by Bichelmeyer (she's 4 kills, no errors in 11 attempts, and 2 blocks).

Genny emptying the bench.

Bichelmeyer really playing into form this set. She's got 6 kills in this set alone without an error.

25-17 for the sweep. Not exactly a dominant or clean performance, but good enough against a bad opponent. Neither Foord or Anota played the 3rd set.

Kostelecky: 11 kills (0 errors, 18 attempts, .611), 3 block assists
Coutley: 10 kills (3 errors, 34 attempts, .206), 1 solo block, 2 block assists
Adekunle: 8 kills (0 errors, 14 attempts, .571), 1 block assist
Bichelmeyer: 7 kills (0 errors, 15 attempts, .467), 2 blocks
McCardell: 3 service errors, 20 digs

Off night for both Maruska and Graham.

Let's start a new thread and call it Volleyball or team we are playing. This thread is getting too long and not defined correct.[/align]

RE: Volleyball at Oregon Invitational
#2 Nebraska and #17 Creighton facing off in Omaha with an announced crowd of 17,797-- an NCAA regular season record attendance. Nip and tuck affair with Huskers taking first set, Creighton blowing a big lead in the second, and holding off a Nebraska rally in the 3rd set. Nebraska leads 2-1, but the last two sets have been by 2 points. Creighton wins the 4th set relatively easily, so we head to the decisive 5th set. Nebraska's 10 service errors are killing them. Other than that, stats our just about even across the board. Nebraska wins it 15-9, closing it out on a 5-0 run.

Creighton is going to be one heck of a test for us next weekend. They've already beaten #23 USC, and lost 3-1 to #16 Kentucky. However, the Nebraska, USC and Kentucky matches were all played at home. They are a very good service team, with only 4 errors in 5 sets against Nebraska....and very good defensive team (Nebraska doesn't have a single ace and 6 different players have double digits digs against the Huskers).

UT hosting UC-Davis (why did we play them in Oregon?) and starting their second string.

UT swept UC-Davis at home with their second team as almost all their starters took the match off.
