Really? I will say, it's at least unique to us. I've always kind of thought they were sharp.

It’s okay. Just not my favorite. Here are my top 3:

1. Fighting Huskie
2. Interlocking NI
3. Current Huskie head on top of NIU

You're right. I like that ranking. The Slanted Italicized Huskies lettering from the Novak era was fun.

Only difference is that in '79 the helmet was white. I also own the Fighting Huskie hoodie from Vintagebrand. The material is pretty lightweight so don't expect it to keep you warm on a cold day, but its the look that matters!

Vintage site says the sizes run small. Is that true and how small do they run?

Always a great site for looking at helmet history for all college teams including the beloved Huskies. Nice that the site is current with every helmet design worn up through the 2021 season.

I personally like the 1968 helmet which made an encore back in 2015.

The fighting Huskie is my favorite! Here are some other logos from the University's 125 year celebration website.

That is a really cool helmet. I should have bought it when I had the chance. I still ended up with the jersey though. Which itself is one of my favorites.

I also think the current Huskie jerseys, home and away, are really cool. Much more refined than they have been in recent years. Adidas is doing a phenomenal job.

Nike meanwhile is trying way too hard. I must be getting old, because Nike's styles are getting atrocious. Like those Michigan State neon green letter jerseys.
