We are OK for the MAC season. In fact, we may be better than last season. Risky to say this after the game we just watched, but I believe it.

I understand the excitement around Schlee. He made some really impressive throws after evading pressure. Seems like he has great eacapability which then results in him making throws from outside the pocket which creates different angles than the defense is set up for. He definitely seems like he takes more risks than Crum so our Ints will likely be up.

Defense looked exactly like what we're used to unfortunately. Hopefully they improve because Crum never turning the ball over was critical when we were in those games where we had to score every possession to keep pace.

What happened to Xavier Williams as I see he did not play or at least get any carries. Glad to see true freshman Gavin Garcia get some action at RB, excited to see what he will do the next 4 seasons. It’s too bad his brother transferred from Michigan to Lehigh and not KSU. He’s a rare dual-sport college athlete, competing on the football and wrestling teams, he could’ve really helped us out on the mat.

They said Williams is still recovering from his injury in the bowl game.

Thanks, they had him listed on the gameday notes 2-day so I thought he’d be out there.

My opinion on the Defense compared to past years.
The major difference was the outside run game, we actually had players keeping leverage and allowing pursuit to make tackles.
DBs played soft coverage with no pass rush QB was able to pick apart secondary. With the size and strength difference no way they could have jammed WRs at the line.
Now we play Oklahoma quicker and stronger than Washington

It seems like I'm always hearing about our DBs, they were featured in the Moff article. Of course that was a point of recruiting pride for Darrel H. No matter how many or how much talent we seem to recruit in the secondary it doesn't matter if you can't pressure the qb.
Not much one can takeaway from week one of MAC play. I will say that although they lost big, I was most impressed by the fight exhibited by CMU against a big time opponent. They stomped us last year and we need to really improv eon D to make it a game with them.

Noy liking the visits to Norman and Athens - we need to adjust our scheduling.

Georgia game is about getting the same amount of people back on the bus that got off. This is no slight on the Golden Flashes but holy macaroni did the Dawgs look good on Saturday.
