RE: 2022 Football Week 1 @ Washington
Anyone hearing anything notable about players? I'm curious to see who steps up at WR besides Cephas this year. In the past I've felt Floria has shown the most promise. Any word on who the backup QB is? How bout how the kicking game is shaping up? Strides by Glass and Smith or a new guy stepping up? I'd love it if the opponents aren't getting the ball at the 40 after every TD again this year.

It’s actually 10:30pm, which works out for me as I’ll be at a game that kicks off at 6pm so I should be back in time to tune in to FS1 for this one.

Good points, we better hope Schlee stays healthy as his #2 is a true freshman and #3 a transfer from JUCO with ok but not eye popping numbers. We definitely needs some guys to step up in the receiving game, with this staff and offense I’m confident we see a couple guys unknown now step up big as the season goes on. Glass returns, he got off to a rough start with FGs last year but salvaged his season. Smith didn’t impress me much, but hopefully he improves as well. Will we be able to stop anybody? With Crum we knew we were in good hands getting on the board in those shootouts, but until this offense clicks we’re going to need to be able to get some stops to get some Ws.

I was kinda hoping one of the freshman would push for time at punter it kicker. I believe Charlie Durkin from Hoban was the intriguing one.

Here is the depth chart for the UW game. For quarterback, both the freshman quarterback, Kargman, & the sophomore, Galban, are the backup to Schlee.

Ah thanks, I was looking for that earlier but couldn't find it. Seems like Walker is getting the first shot at replacing Abram. He's an intriguing receiver at 6'3". The slot's interesting. James jumped over Poke and Floriea? Also interesting to see Gamble up to 280 listed as a DE. Not many guys come in at RB and leave at DE. I'll be really interested to see how he bounces back after missing a year. Also I see the freshman kicker from Strongsville looks like he'll be handling kickoffs. That's good news. Glass was fine on FGs last year but his lack of leg on kickoffs was killer.

My buddy in the Seattle area reported the legendary Washington Coach James connection to KSU getting a lot of chatter.

Control the clock. Score or punt and play good defense.

Oh wait.

Looking at our 2-deep we have a ton of experience on our defense, hopefully they play like it.

Eventful 1st quarter. First play and Schlee threw an INT. The Huskies went for it on 4th down and 1 and busted a 28 yard TD. They went for it on 4th down on their own 32. Schlee to Walker for a 99yards TD.

Was totally a PI on UW that wasn't called. But the defense needs to get off the field without allowing points. Also, not a 99 yard TD.

I know it's going to take some time for the defense to show better results than last year but damn they are hard to watch.

Yeah I see that now, not watching it as I’m on the road, but ESPN said it was 99 yards and now I see it was 47. Game getting ugly now 28-7.

Uncalled PI goes for an INT on the first play. TD taken off the board for a real weak offensive PI. Don't know why I expected better.
