RE: Ugly racist incident at BYU
Well...it's BYU. That's par for the course for these misfits. UTEP witnessed a lot of crap from their fans when we were in the WAC with them. That school was hated by every member of the conference for their unsportsmanship and their crying about bad calls. Danny Ainge was notorious for questioning every call that came against him. I still don't like that (mental) institution.

...and they're not Christian and if you believe in the Golden Tablets than you'll believe Biden is a great president as told to us by the Demoncrapped. Not one iota of that Joseph Smith story has any validity (no proof at all to show). A lot of Mormon believers have been bamboozled and a lot of them are leaving the church because their eyes have been opened.

I don’t care if you’re red or blue, right or left, things like this should never be acceptable anywhere.

Definitely a case of "Hey Buddy, shut your mouth or I'll do it for you". Our educational system has castrated generations of men.

Isn’t that the truth…

When I see stories of women and old folks being abused in public while “men” ignore it or worse yet, video it and don’t do anything it pisses me off. I was raised you give your seat up for a woman or senior citizen, on the bus or on the train.

The idea of ignoring something like that is a foreign concept to me.

They (the left) don't care as long as the ends justify the means. And to them, the ends always justify the means.

BYU is not Christian. I mean, they "claim" to be, but they are not.

But, that discussion is best for a different thread.

I don't think it was a plant. It was a racist moron who checked his principles at the door, if he ever had them, and allowed the emotions of a sporting event rule his conduct.

I'm sure the game officials and fans around could have and should have done more, but I'm glad that BYU's athletic department summarily banned him.

Also, I welcome a discussion and encourage research on how the school sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is or is not Christian. But, go to the source:

https://www.byu.edu/about

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-clpMt_6...AyMg&t=89s

https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/come...e?lang=eng

Revelation 22:18-19 is a start. And, the entire Mormon faith is based on the Book Of Mormon.

There are dozens of false teachings, but really it all begins and ends with the assertion that God has added on to his Revelation thru Joseph Smith. I mean, if you can read the Bible and then read the Book of Mormon, and think that those two go together, I don't know what to tell you.

Interesting. It's curious to me that some would think that those two verses in the Book of Revelation are a conclusive or key argument as to why BYU or the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are not Christian. Look, I don't want to Bible bash. My definition of "Christian" is a person professing belief in Jesus as the Christ or in a religion based on the teachings of Jesus.

Seems like the definition of "Christian" you use is different than what I use. The definition you use seems to focus on belief that there can be no more prophets, no additional scripture, and that there can be no more revelation from God since the late 1st century.

Yes, I believe that the Book of Mormon; Another Testament of Jesus Christ was written by prophets of God and contains the gospel of Jesus Christ.
https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/stud...m?lang=eng

I also believe that the Bible was written by prophets of God and contains the gospel of Jesus Christ. Yes, I believe that Joseph Smith received revelation from God and restored His priesthood authority and restored Christ's church to the earth. I also believe that Adam, Abraham, Moses, Isaiah, John, Paul, and many other prophets received revelation from God and exercised his priesthood authority and organized his church on the earth. I believe that prophets continue to receive revelation from God and exercise Christ's priesthood authority.

But, Joseph Smith and other prophets were men. They weren't perfect and I do not worship them. My testimony and my faith centers on Jesus Christ. He is my Savior and Redeemer. I believe that He will someday return to earth and rule as King of Kings and Lord of Lords and every knee shall bend and every tongue shall speak in worship before Him. He is the light, the life, and the hope of the world. His way is the path that leads to happiness in this life and eternal life in the world to come. If that's not a "Christian" then I guess I don't understand what a Christian is.

Well, Mormons by and large don't vote democrat, but otherwise I more or less agree re: BYU. Their arrogance and distaste for others may outpace Notre Dame's.

Even the "angel" that divulged the Golden Plates, or Tablets was named Moroni. Has any of you not seen the play on words here? Just read the first five letters of his name. That joker Smith knew his people like Killery knew hers when she said that Democrat voters were dumb. But, you do what you do and may Jesus have mercy on your soul.

Oh, and if you're wondering, I've read the whole Book of Mormon and it's a great fairy tale, nothing more.

RE: Ugly racist incident at BYU
For the record, I have a few relatives on my mom's side who are LDS. This is what I'm basing all of this on.

Now then, I know that Mormons believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God as well as the Savior of all those who call on Him. I also know that the Book of Mormon is an added book of scripture, which God says we're not supposed to do. Having said all of that, I do believe they're Christians. (I used to believe they were merely just Christ-like as in acting like Christ, not actually Christian due to the fact they believe the Book of Mormon is also God's Word, which is what I was taught growing up as a Southern Baptist. I just want to add that for clarification.) Also, they're known for promoting clean (healthy) living, which is definitely a positive in my eyes. And we should be eating healthy, natural foods as much as possible every day. A lot of us, including myself, eat a lot of processed junk with too much sodium, sugar, and additives that look like they were made in a laboratory instead of in God's good soil.

I think this is exactly where members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints feel offended and persecution from other Christians. We believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as the Saviour and Redeemer of the world. But because we believe in additional scripture that focuses on Jesus Christ - that we believe came from God - and because we believe in current prophets - whose entire focus is on Jesus Christ - we are labeled as not actually being "Christian."

As I pointed out in my earlier post, seems like the definition of "Christian" that others use against us focuses on things other than believing in Christ and following Christ.

Hey, I get what you're saying, but the Bible says to neither add nor take away from the Bible itself. I do admit I should've worded the bolded part differently, but that's what I believed growing up in church. (And full disclosure: I was raised Southern Baptist and this was drilled in me when I was little. And there could've been some misinformation that I was taught as a youngster as well so I do apologize for potentially regurgitating that. I'm now non-denominational and I believe that as long as you've accepted Christ into your heart as Lord and Savior and do your absolute best follow his teachings, you're a Christian. All in all, my post really was meant to be positive toward the LDS. I'm sorry it didn't come off that way.)

Ah, but they can't do that anymore! You never know when the bastardo agitator actually works for an intelligence agency and is merely setting the stage for propaganda! So, no acts which could lead to discovery! Play on!

Can’t believe that BS was allowed to continue for entire match

Used to be, and not that long ago, that public overt racist behavior was condemned. Now, thanks to one political movement and party, it is acceptable to some folks. So, sadly, I am not surprised at all.

Hope y’all beat their self-righteous butts this week.

That is a ridiculous statement, and not even remotely accurate. I can only assume that the "political movement" you're referring to are supporters of President Trump.

The only folks who don't get in trouble for overtly racist behavior are liberals. The senile houseplant that currently occupies the White House is a prime example.

The overtly racist statements and horrific violent actions of the BLM organization have been met with zero consequences.

There IS a double standard. It just isn't where you think it is. 07-coffee3

Back on subject. What happened to this young lady is horrible and should be called out. The fact that according to reports now it was more than one person, went on for entire match and no one around them said anything speaks very bad about the university as a whole.

Based on the recent history of racial hoaxes, I have to take this with a grain of salt.

Seems like 90% of the time now when the story is about a black person begin attacked with racial slurs it turns out to be false.

It could be real, but so many of these the last few years have been proven to false.

Lucky for this young lady, her mother, I believe, is running for political office currently so she has an extra little platform to elevate herself onto.

Anyone have video of this happening?

I also believe that the Bible was written by prophets of God and contains the gospel of Jesus Christ. Yes, I believe that Joseph Smith received revelation from God and restored His priesthood authority and restored Christ's church to the earth.

And therein lies your elephant in the room problem.

You can't claim to believe in the Bible AND the claims of Joseph Smith because they totally contradict each other and the Bible is clear God's Word ends with Revelation. Any additions are clearly rebuked in the strongest of terms and given serious warnings against in the Bible. How can Joe Smith restore something Jesus proclaimed would never fall until His return? That is blasphemy. Smith makes Jesus and the NT into liars.

What you are really saying is you will accept and reject what parts of the Bible you like and don't like and will happily add anything to it you fancy.

That is a bunch of hypocritical garbage and you know it.

The Bible is either God's Word or its not, there is no middle ground. And the Bible teaches that from Genesis through Revelation.

I'm not saying some Mormons are not saved, I'm simply pointing out the FACT that Mormonism is based on false doctrine and false teaching because of a false prophet (Joseph Smith). I know he is a false prophet because I know what the Bible says and I know what he claimed.

If you don't agree he was a false prophet then you either don't really read the Bible or flat out reject what it says. Or both.

What this is is not an "ugly racist incident."

Its an obnoxious heckler at a sports event using racist terms.

Approaching her after the game and saying those things would be an "ugly racist incident."
