RE: EIU game story
This should be a very fun season. At some positions, we have more depth than in recent years. The only position I am worried about is wide receiver. Potential but lots of question marks.

... That explains the Rover position...

... We're going to need help from our TEs, we do have size and atheltic ability here. Need Thornton to stay healthy as he has home run potential, that Kacper transfer or Fabian has to add something when they get their chance and they will.

4-2-5: I remember when SDSU came in here with that D and it posed lots of challenges for college offenses.

Honestly I can't say I noticed it in any of the NIU practices but that is probably my ignorance.

Can Waylee catch well enough to put in the slot? Would love if they could find a way to keep both him and Brown on the field as much as possible.

Until he gets hurt on a return.

Beebe got hammered a couple times back there.

I’ll take a full year of fair catches on punts without a turnover.

If that is the case that you worry about injury, go ahead and put a 2 or 3 back there. to get nothing in the return game is pretty useless. Bebe got hurt on a pass play the two times he was out. At least make a dash for the sideline, when no one is around your for 15 yards.

Why not put Dozier back there? All we have heard about is his amazing running ability. Gotta believe a former wr has good hands too.

Kacper will do just fine if given the chance.

RE: EIU game story
Brown must have absolutely killed it in practice to beat out Waylee. It’s a great sign. I think Brown has NFL talent.

Same here. His size, speed, and acceleration are uncoachable. Pair that with Hammock's supreme RB coaching ability, and you got the makings of Michael Turner II out of the Freshman RS.

Agree 100%!

I can't wait for Brown and Waylee (and maybe Blakemore/Dozier if one of them can get enough carries) to run all over our opponents behind our great O-line. I'm so tired of previews talking about how we lost the MAC FR of the year (Ducker). I didn't see any preview mention Ducker was #3 behind Waylee (who was 7th in FBS in yards per game as I recall when he got hurt) and Brown.

RE: EIU game story
With all three, Brown Waylee, and Blakemore getting touches, I doubt we will have a top 10 rusher in the country, but we should challenge for the most productive rushing team in the entire nation.

I didn't realize EIU was 1-10 last year and have a new coach. Growing pains for them.

Always be prepared.
The GT fans were saying the same things about us last year that we're talking about EIU.

I'm sure Coach has the crew prepped and ready, but never be complacent.

RE: EIU game story
Former NIU CB Mark Aitken will line up against the Huskies and former NIU WR Turner Pugh is coaching the RBs for EIU.

Absolutely.... We probably put up a 50 burger on them, but they did hire a former EIU alum with a successful pedigree.
