A 20-year-old Southern California woman was charged with murder this week after she ran over a man she accused of attempting to drive over a cat, Orange County authorities said Wednesday.

Hannah Star Esser got out of her car in the Cypress neighborhood of Orange County Sunday evening to accuse Luis Anthony Victor of aiming for a cat with his car in the cul-de-sac on Graham Street. Cypress is west of Anaheim.

Following the heated argument, during which Victor also got out of his car, Esser allegedly got back in hers, made a three-point turn and accelerated into him, launching him onto the hood of her car.

(09-23-2022 07:48 AM)Hernando Hills Tiger Wrote:  A California judge is allowing a black entertainment group led by Byron Allen to continue their lawsuit against McDonalds for not spending enough money advertising with the network. The lawsuit alleges that McDonalds does not give enough of their advertising budget to black entertainment, therefore McDonalds is racist.

Byron Allen is suing McDonalds for $10 billion, demanding reparations from the fast-food chain for not spending enough advertising with his company.

There’s gold underneath those arches. On its face this looks like the extortion business model of Al Sharpton dressed up in corporate media suits. It will be interesting to watch how this unfolds.

Sept 20 (Reuters) – McDonald’s Corp has been ordered by a U.S. judge to defend against media entrepreneur Byron Allen’s $10 billion lawsuit accusing the fast-food chain of “racial stereotyping” by not advertising with Black-owned media.

In a decision on Friday, U.S. District Judge Fernando Olguin in Los Angeles said Allen could try to prove that McDonald’s violated federal and California civil rights laws by deeming his networks ineligible for the “vast majority” of its advertising dollars.
I have been in advertising all my life...actually since 1963. So here are some thoughts on why this suit makes no sense.
1. McDonalds probably places advertising on Urban and Hip Hop radio stations. So, that proves no racial bias.
2. McDonalds buys TV on all networks and most all local network stations. Those stations deliver an audience that includes AAs in normal ethnic distribution.
3. In heavy AA markets like Memphis, AA stations and others all have AA audiences since the market is 50% black.
4. TV viewing tends to be heavier with AA audiences since during the day, more available eyes are AA. Unemployment being higher with AAs means they watch more TV. Thus regular TV stations actually deliver a higher percentage of AAs.
5. My guess is McDonalds has a higher percentage of AA employees than the general population. So hiring practices proves no discrimination.
6. Distribution of ad funds soley based on race is racial discrimination and illegal in the US. Unless you have a product that is specifically for an ethnic market.
7. If McDonalds loses, the Latino media will have the right to sue McDonalds based on the same claim as will Asian media.
8. If McDonalds loses, all advertisers will be effected and be required to do the same, even companies that do not target an AA audience.
9. McDonalds has a national ad budget but the local franchisees in each market also have an ad budget. Saul Kaplan was the owner of the McDonalds franchise in Memphis years ago and he had a budget that had nothing to do with the national ad budget. Both budgets effect the overall impact of McDonalds advertising. So, each market is different. This could further complicate the law suit.
10. It is conceivable that the local McDonalds budget is going on the BE Network via the placement of local cable TV budgets.
11. It is possible that part of the media buying team at the agency that places the national ad budget for McDonalds are AAs. McDonalds does not actually place the advertising, it is done by the media buyers at their ad agency. So, the control of budgets and where they are spent is actually not 100% in the hands of the McDonalds Corp. In fact, it could be 100% in the hands of the Media Dept at their ad agency. Maybe they need to sue the ad agency instead. Doing that is probably not a very good business decision since the agency handles many large accounts and ticking off media buyers has never been a great idea if you want them to spend money with you.

The part about loving it?

I've been to Yosemite twice. Sequoia national park once. Driven highway one from San Francisco to as far north as you can go. Visit a little hamlet in Northern California for a hobby I participate in. Know where the Emerald Triangle is. Been to Mount Shasta. Been to San Juan Capistrano to see the swallows. Been to several Redwood forests. Been to Disneyland but liked Knotts Berry Farms better.

First trip there was in 1976 when I spent 3 weeks TDY at Rockwell International for top secret training. Last trip was in March 2020 right before covid lockdowns. Next trip is the first week of March 2023.

California professor erupts on 'Christian,' 'White men' on PBS: They will cause a 'civil war'

She cited observations of over 200 civil wars to decode that these "Christian" White males are the powder keg from which conflict will explode, because they were once "dominant and are in decline."

After explaining how she used to work for a "U.S. government task force that was run through the CIA, that was designed to help our government predict where around the world civil wars and political instability, and political unrest was likely to break out," Walter mentioned some factors that could be looked at to see if America was headed down that road.

Though she acknowledged she was extrapolating, explaining that "The CIA is not allowed to look at the United States," as it’s "not a politicized organization."

Even Dems don’t know that @GavinNewsom’s a hyper lefty nut job. Health care for illegal aliens? Yes! Tax payers pay for abortions? Yes! Reparations—even though Calif. was not a slave state? Yes! A board to set wages of fast food workers? Yes! Makes @BernieSanders look centrist.

California police officials have released the wrong-way driver accused of plowing his SUV into a group of police recruits and staff earlier this week, citing the "extreme complexity" of the ongoing case.

Nicholas Joseph Gutierrez, 22, was released from police custody late Thursday — just hours after officials announced that he had been charged with attempted murder in connection with Wednesday’s devastating wrong-way wreck.

San Francisco’s Department of Elections Director John Arntz, who local news outlet Misson Local says “oversees one of the few San Francisco departments that unambiguously accomplishes its core mission,” will not have his contract renewed despite his stellar performance. The reason? He does not fit in the city’s “racial equity plan.”

Once again, California is showing us the future — and it’s wracked with labor strife, high prices, government bloat and abject failure. And nowhere is this more apparent than in California’s government education system.

Some 48,000 unionized graduate student workers at 10 University of California campuses went on strike three weeks ago, demanding "significantly higher wages, expanded childcare subsidies, enhanced health coverage and other benefits," according to a CalMatters report.

Meanwhile, government elementary schools in the lockdown-happy state dominated by teachers unions saw math and reading test scores plummet.

A self-identified "cringey" California English teacher claimed she combats "white supremacy" "B.S." in her classroom by teaching students about the overemphasized importance of grammar usage and writing rules.

Marta Shaffer, a tenured English teacher at Oroville High School, began the 2022-2023 academic year by teaching parts of linguistics as a way of "fighting white supremacy in my classes," according to her posts on TikTok. The goal was to be "inclusive of all kinds of ways we use the language."

According to Shaffer, expectations for students to use proper grammar and syntax is part of White supremacy culture that "runs deep."

California State University, Northridge's Pride Center hosted a "kinky karaoke" event in November, where "kinky" giveaways and free HIV testing was offered.

The event took place at California State University, Northridge on Nov. 29 and was only open to people ages 18 and over, according to a poster for the event.

Campus Reform first reported on the event, which is described as "an exciting night of singing and sex education."

"Between songs you can enjoy free food, learn more about inclusive sex education and participate in kinky giveaways. There will also be free HIV testing available at the event!," the event's description read.

Previous events hosted by the university's pride center include a "Trans-Gression Punk Show" which included performers psych as "Ginchy GayJacket & The Flushable Wipes" and "YGSLRHSTFUT," which is short for "YOU GUYS SUCK LIKE REAL HARD. SHUT THE F--K UP. THANKS," according to the band's Instagram page.
