Everything that is going on in College football is hard to keep up with. I wanted to jot down some of my insightful observations (mainly for the Rep points) because I'm sure everyone of you is interested in what I have to say.

1. UCLA and USC are joining the B10. It is going to be very interesting when that happens. The egos involved during that transition are going to kill that conference eventually. You know UCLA and USC think they are just going to walk in and try to throw their weight around. I can't wait.

2. Texas and OU are joining the SEC. It is going to be very interesting when that happens. The egos involved during that transition are going to kill that conference eventually. You know Texas and OU think they are just going to walk in and try to throw their weight around. I can't wait.

3. NIL is a Pandora's Box. I can see players "going live" on the side lines on their social media accounts, it's going to be insane.. or maybe it won't. Who knows what this will all lead to.

4. The college football world is already bored with the Bama vs OSU vs Clemson show that happens every January. When the P2/3 is formed it's going to be "meet the new boss, same as the old boss." College fans will continue to get bored with it and start to tune out.

5. P2/3 leave the NCAA behind. That means no G5 and FCS to pad their schedules anymore. This will lead to teams that were middle of the road will start having frequent losing records, coaches will be getting fired left and right with AD's trying to keep up with the Elite schools. Schools like WVU will be lucky to win 4 games a year. Donations will dry up and players will be jumping into the Transfer Portal. I actually want to see this happen.

6. I think this will mean that we'll see a G5 playoff and NCAA sanctioned National Championship. This can be a good thing. The G5 can become or remain what was great about College Football and keep all the pageantry and innocence of it all. Though I hate the thought of being seen as a lower level, it looks like we don't have a choice in the matter.

So what do you all think is gonna happen?

I think all of the signs seem to be pointing towards the SEC and Big 10 becoming the P2. I really wonder what's going to happen to the remnants of the Pac 12, Big 12, and ACC. I can see some mergers and consolidations, where they become basically the new mid-majors as the current G5 is kicked to the curb. May not happen officially for awhile (whenever the ACC GOR ends) but will probably happen effectively sooner than later.

I think in the next few months we're going to hear about an expanded playoff without a G5 autobid, which will effectively relegate us down a notch. With an 8 team playoff, #9 will become the new glass ceiling for an undefeated G5. An expanded playoff also means no more NY6 autobid for the top G5, since that game will be incorporated into the playoff.

Even if the P2/3 doesn't officially break off, if the G5 doesn't have access to the playoff, has no P2/3 bowl tie ins or even home-and-homes, and no chance for an NY6, are we really even in the same division? Our only purpose will be to occasionally be murdered by schools with $200 million athletic budgets for a 7-figure paycheck once a year.

On the plus side, I'm glad we're in the Sun Belt with a bunch of other similar schools going through the same thing. I used to hate the idea of being in a lower conference too but at a certain point, if the big boys wont let us into their club, we need to accept it and take our ball and go home.

It just really sucks that we're finally in a conference that helps our strength-of-schedule and any chance at an NY6 bid is disappearing before our eyes.

College sports as we knew it, grew up with, and love, is dying. We will all get tempered to it over time and accept it because we will have ZERO choice because the money isn't there for us to keep on keeping up. I wish it was. We do so much more with less than almost ANY other G5 school. It is amazing what we are able to do and maintain.
