Coog High, they are who I thought they were.

Yep, it looks like 3-0 Tulane is the new standard bearer for the AAC, LOL.

Among the four new schools going P5 next year, it appears UC might be the only one "Big 12 Ready" based upon the early results this season. A victory Saturday over B10 Indiana would be another point for that argument. After the Hoosiers needed three overtime periods to beat Western Kentucky in Bloomington yesterday, I like our chances in the Nipp.

I know this a bit premature but I hope next Saturday is when we click on all cylinders for two-halfs of Bearcat football. Let's really sock it to those damn Hoosiers and set up our big run in the conference.

Bolded, I feel the same way. I have a good friend who is a loyal Hoosier fan but also really knows college football. LOL, he (and many of their diehards) still believes IU would have won if their defensive stud hadn't been ejected on a targeting penalty.

Some Hoosier fans think they encountered a fluke G5 team last year. Let's hope that on Saturday our Bearcats prove beating Indiana last year was no aberration. I'm not predicting this, but if UC cleans up a few things I think they could run IU out of the Nipp.

The Miami game did not give me any confidence that this UC team can put together two good halves.

If they play a first half against Indiana like the one they played against Miami, I don’t like their chances.

No one wants to hear it, but I still feel, that the QB position is a liability.

Prater must be pretty bad.

Our issues thus far are penalties and turnovers. Ben went completed 75% of his passes on Saturday for 337 yards and 2 TDs. He is playing well. Not sure anyone could be doing any better.

The only thing that bothers me about that statement was that all the podcasts leading up to the game talked about whether we could handle a b10 road game and what would happen when we played a team with b10 depth and recruiting? Set aside that we recruit at or above the level of low to mid level b10 schools (and probably win a good chunk of those head to heads), if their b10 depth was an actual thing and not something they just told themselves to feed their egos or sense of superiority, you would have thought that their second stringer would have come in and picked up the slack for the guy that got ejected. instead, they got handled.

Honestly, i'm looking forward to listening to the iu podcasts this week. i'm interested in hearing the narratives, both about iu but also their thoughts on us. Do they still think of us as nothing more than the g5 standard bearer or are they going to give us legitimate respect?

Bolded, exactly right. If UC fans had made such a fallacious claim, that by one player being disqualified on the home team (which was not even favored to win anyway), we would have been ridiculed by opposing fans.

The hubris of B10 "also rans" fans is laughable. If the B10 patch on the jersey makes them Supermen, the Bearcats will bring the Kryptonite Saturday.

I read that UConn only had 110 yards of total offense against Michigan Saturday, including only 24 in the air on 5 completed passes. Just drop down to FCS, won't you?

Just browsed the Houston Coogs message board and they are in complete meltdown mode. Looked like UC forums circa 2016.

They rode a crap schedule in a down AAC to a gaudy record last year. They aren't as bad as people are assuming right now. Probably right there with most of the conference. They blew the Texas Tech game and Kansas is significantly better than they have been. It will be interesting to see how it plays out. I think Temple and Navy are bad. I think UC is a tier above everyone else. I think other than that everyone is in that pretty good to decent range.

I was on a camping excursion so I did not watch much this weekend. Last night I was curious so I checked out some of the Kansas State-Tulane game and was impressed with the athleticism of the Green Wave. Their D is legit and offensively they will cause problems for nearly everyone in the AAC with an experienced QB and some burners at WR.

I would add ECU as another team to watch out for in conference play. I watched most of their game against NCSU and they look like Cincinnati-lite in terms of physical, get-after-it play and the ability to run the rock. I'm thankful we play them at the Nip this year along with Tulane.

Why are we not in the top 25 ???

What is our crime? Losing to a top 10 SEC west team on the road by a TD ???

Freakin' A&M is still in it and they lost at home to the sun belt.

Agree, from what I've seen of ECU that NCSU game could have gone either way at the end and I expect they'll be more formidable than in some past years. Ditto Tulane. Having both in the Nipp may turn out to be a nice parting gift from the AAC.

RE: 2022 College Football Season Thread
As if that game didn't need any more juice. 03-lmfao

Quote:Few in-state rivalries get more heated than that of ACC foes North Carolina and NC State. UNC quarterback Drake Maye added fuel to that fire Tuesday during a press conference when asked about playing for his home-state team. The Charlotte native and former 4-star recruit took a shot at the Wolfpack in the process — and not just NC State's football team or athletic department.

"I didn't want to miss out on the home state," Maye said. "... Whether you want to admit it or not, growing up in Carolina, you're gonna be a Carolina fan. Some people may say (NC) State, but really people who go to State just can't get in to Carolina. At the end of the day, playing for Carolina is what a lot of people from North Carolina want to do. So I didn't want to miss out on that, and then obviously the family history and stuff."

Later Tuesday, Maye issued an apology for the comment via his Twitter account.

"I made a remark today about NC State, and I want to apologize," Maye wrote. "I was answering a question about playing in-state and said something I shouldn’t have. I said it as a joke but it was inappropriate. I feel bad and need to do a better job representing our program and this University."

North Carolina and NC State will not face each other until the final game of the regular season, set for Nov. 25 at UNC. Both teams are currently 3-0 and hope to battle for their respective division titles in the ACC. Last year, the Wolfpack beat UNC 34-30 at home to claim their ninth win of their banner season under coach Dave Doeren.

If true that is kinda bad on BKs part but Holtz does not need to make it a public matter. Not sure what he is hoping to accomplish by disclosing this publicly.
