RE: Eastern Illinois Roll Call
My wife (a tOSU grad) and I will drive up from just outside Columbus, Ohio. We will be joined by my older daughter (a Miami grad) and two granddaughters from just outside Madison Wisconsin. I was an NIU freshman in 1971 so this will be my 51rst season of watching Huskie football. I bought a one day seat license for $75 so we could get chair back tickets as at my age sitting on an aluminum bench for 3 hours is no longer fun.

I wasn’t sure where to put this question so I’ll ask here. NIU said that all concessions will be cashless this year. Does that include the end zone bar? I thought that was always cash only.

Yes, I saw that. IMO, cashless transactions are ridiculous. I prefer paying for most things with cash. Credit/debit card transactions take more time that a cash transaction, but I guess kids today are too stupid to know how to give change.

I was at an Iowa Cub game in July and it was cashless even in the parking lot. It sure didn't seem to be faster.

If parking is say $20, what's wrong with handing the attendant a $20 bill? It's getting ridiculous. When they instituted the chip technology, transactions take even longer. I can eat a meal in the time it takes my ATM to spit out cash.
I am not one of these people who pay for a pack of gum on a debit/credit card. The stuff I see is mind-blowing.

It's more difficult to pocket a credit card transaction.

It is easier and cheaper overall for credit transactions, especially with NFC enabled cards.
