We win the next two. Bloomgren and Tui put out the dumpster fire before it costs them their jobs.

Ranked again! Whaddaya know!

Quote:[Image: 780.svg] 4. Rice 0-1 There's never a good time for Rice to play USC, but playing USC in its first game under Lincoln Riley when he wants to put on a show for the fans is probably the worst time for Rice to play USC.

oops! forgot the link: The first Bottom 25 of 2022 season!

Not that strange. Before the wheels fell off, we showed up and held our own for a quarter against what the pundits think is a top 10 team. Net, Bowling Green and a few current and future conference mates did subjectively much worse and sank, bubbling us up two spots even if we didn’t deserve it. Navy lost to Delaware, Middle Tenn got blown out by James Madison, and Charlotte lost to William and Mary - who hadn’t won against an FBS school since 2009. Bowling Green got docked 8 for getting squashed by a much less good UCLA. Interesting that UCLA itself got hit by 6 spots due to its sloppy play.

This. I think the moves more reflected others doing worse than expected as opposed to us doing measurably better. I'm not knocking the heart and effort the team showed, especially early... just that we were expected to get dominated and for the most part, were. I don't think anyone is saying that USC or Rice aren't essentially what we thought they were. USC will get better and show more than they did... I'm not sure that we 'held anything back' and really hope we didn't. If we did, that sucks for the players

In ESPN’s way too early bowl projections, one of their analysts has Rice vs Tulane in the Dec 16th, Duluth Trading Cure Bowl, in Orlando. That could be fun.

Somebody mentioned we could use this bye week to heal up some. Who exactly are we looking to get back for FAU? Or is it general nicks and bruises we are expecting to heal?

Our Assistant Football Strength & Conditioning Coach-Nutrition Manager is a good guy, but I'm not sure he was in the military or that highly ranked; as for Mr. Dunlevie, he is still trying to heal from the first recipient of his endowment.

I don't remember all the names, but as the team returned to Patterson after the game, about nine of them weren't in uniform.

Green comes to mind, and I think a couple of O-linemen were unavailable for the UAB game, but I don't know how badly injured they may be.

Would love that Cure Bowl but the Camelia Bowl against Marshall would be hilarious. They can leave the conference but they can't escape Rice
