RE: Indiana Game Time
UC has sold out their allotment for the Ark and miami games. Now IU is sold out. Starting the season on a high note.

So is there any truth to the rumor that they're not opening the upper deck for the Miami U game?

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't. What does Miami U care whose money they're getting?

RE: Indiana Game Time
Bengals probably don't want the expense of cleaning it up. And Miami probably went for the discount rental rate.

Last time I checked no tickets were for sale in the upper deck on Miami’s site or any resale sites.

RE: Indiana Game Time
Called UC this week and they helped getting 6 tickets through Miami. Few rows up on Miami's side but tickets where face value and not prices people are seeing on Stub Hub/etc.

If first two levels are sold out I'll be pissed they didn't see how many would attend at PBS even if it will be a fantastic atmosphere. My guess with Octoberfest that day, they could have pushed the Oklahoma game and been around 60k but looks like we will never know.

LOL, so true. I used to browse Miami's discussion boards online the week before the game each year. There seems to be so little interest, and passion, over there I don't even bother anymore.

On paper, it's another win for UC @ Paycor. But I'm always wary of long winning streaks breeding complacency and Miami football has actually made some progress competitively in recent years. I expect a closer game this year.

Back to IU. I'm really hoping it's a night game, but I doubt it will be.

I checked their board out the other day. One guy went on a rant about how UC is overhyped and would get smoked by Purdue and Illinois. Several of the Miami posters corrected him about being stuck in the 1980s and how we have already beaten those schools by multiple scores in the recent past. There seems to be an understanding they aren't playing the same game we are right now and it might be time to end the series as it gives them a guaranteed L every year.

There was always a pretty good crowd, while I was there. That was during the Ben Roethlisberger era though. The MAC has fallen hard, since those days. I went to a game last year, just for something to do. I pretty much had my pick of any seat at the 20 yard line.

Big Ben dominated UC during those years but it might have been the last hurrah for a Miami football program that's been living on past glories as the "cradle of coaches" for decades now. The MAC found a way to survive on the coattails of B10 buy games pre-conference. With the power conferences all getting considerably larger that revenue option might just disappear. An expanded playoff could be the enticement for power conference teams to play an additional non-conference game against another power conference team to polish the playoff resume.

Went over there after reading this post. Even last year in advance of the game they were still talking like UC was overhyped and they might be able to steal one. That attitude seems finally gone. Most of them don't seem to want to even continue the series. Never thought I'd see that from the Miami crowd.

If the entire stadium is not open why play a game there?

UC used to say 50,000 needed to justify PBS.

Seriously need to end the series or play all at Nip as it once was. Or make it 3 to 1.

If Miami wants to be optimistic, they held Ben Bryant to 206 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT in a very close game last year (EMU won 13-12). I assume that was due to poor OL play as Ben had 11 rushes for -28 yards. Ben will be well protected by our squad, and our WRs are probably 20x better than EMU’s.

The number was 40,000. The last game at PBS was a monsoon but when we played in 2014 at PBS there were about 42,000 people there.

Its been said many times but the current deal is fiscally beneficial to UC, and both the AD and Fickell are in favor of it in its current form. This won't change for the foreseeable future.

EMU's WR's were 5'8 175 pound guys who aren't the most athletic and their TE is 6'2. Going to be a bit different when they have to match up with UC's receivers and TE's.
