Athletics Strategic Plan
The new Athletics strategic plan was released today. I believe this is the first time at USM that an AD has laid it out there on the table of what he wants to do and how he’s going to get there (spoiler: Money). While it’s not as flashy as presenting renderings of a renovated Reed Green with no plan how to fund it (sup, Bill McGillis) it is strategically sound.

Some highlights:

1. Reed Green Coliseum renovation (including a new practice facility)
2. Move Soccer/T&F/Softball back to campus, which has been in the 2014 Master Facilities plan.
3. Improve facilities for Olympic sports
4. Build a new Golf facility at HCC
5. Budget and scholarship funding goals
6. Pursue naming rights of athletic facilities (first step would be to get the law changed)
7. Build up athletics staff (they are severely severely short handed right now)

I've always liked Jeremy. He did some really good things at Troy and hopefully we will start to really show some support and growth.

He was great as Associate AD before going to Troy. Really forward thinking.

Jeremy is the best AD we have had since as far back as i can remember. I said that when he was hired. Hope we can keep him a long time. He is a difference maker.

I like it.. I wonder if we go pursuing naming of the facilities, how much the two up north start whining. But it'd benefit them as well.

Anyway I hope he gets it done.. And he's here long enough to make it happen.

I don't see them whining. They would just do the same thing, but more lucrative.
