It would provide more revenue for schools and allow for more big time matchups OOC. The season would then start two weeks earlier than now.
As it is the hockey season is 34 games. I don’t see why the basketball season couldn’t be 33 or 35.

It's good but conferences such as the SWAC are already on the road enough, this would give them one more buy game. Good for the coffers not so good for the student -athletes.

They should be playing from November to May like th NBA. Regular season is meaningless anyway and let's not kid ourselves about the student-athlete illusion.

Basketball season is too long now. November to April is too long already. Pre-conference games are boring unless it’s a rivalry game. An 18 game conference schedule with 7 OOC games. 25 Regular season games is enough

Edit: Baseball already overlaps too much.

Regardless of the sport, every time a season is extended the "it will allow for better OOC games" argument gets used. But that rarely happens. What we usually get are the Haves buying more bodybag games from the have-nots who need the pay games to keep the programs going. If anything, I'd like to see the OOC season shortened to two conference challenge series and two tournaments. Then the conference schedules could be expanded, providing more meaningful games to watch.

This...I think basketball season ought to start NET Nov 20th and end as it currently ends now.

I don't mind a longer season but with a rule change stating teams must have a set number of home or neutral games a non conference season.
