As usual, the P5s get almost all the preseason AP ranking spots.

Not sure why they try to rank teams before a single game is played since these are mostly just biased opinions doing the rankings.

G5 only gets two teams in the top 25 and they rank them near the bottom, of course. Then the unranked G5 teams have to spend most of the season winning until they finally break into the rankings.

Why is A&M even in the top 10 when they finished the season unranked?!? Why is Nebraska getting any votes?

Most of these polls are rubbish. Before actually having a record for data, it is just a popularity contest between connected people who can get people to talk about their team and promote their football brand before the season.

It's the same 20 teams every year with a rotation of 10 teams rounding out 21 - 25.

The G5 onus is to be undefeated to get into those rankings eventually. If the Huskies go 4-0 in preseason (assuming Kentucky is 3-0 and still ranked) we could sneak into the rankings. But if we lose, even a close game, we probably can’t get back into that 25 until we’re 8-1 or so.

Fair enough. Lol. Technically we are undefeated. I kinda meant in general. But even in preseason you have to have an almost perfect record from the previous season to have consideration.
