Yeah, that was right before we went on a 5 game winning streak vs. Houston. You were lucky it wasn't 6.
And that wasn't a 29 yard chippie he missed at the end.
We beat yall 31-13 last year. How exactly were we lucky it wasn't 6? lmao
You were lucky to win the 2015 game. That would have started the streak, and thus eventually made it 6 in a row.
Kind of a whiny post. Yah we were "lucky" to beat yall with our 3rd string QB. You know because its super "lucky" to have your starting QB get injured. WTF lmao. In 2016 we lost to you by a score in a week where our HC was interviewing with just about every nearby P5 school. Was that lucky? In 2017 we coughed up a three score lead. Was that lucky? In 2020 yall beat 3 after we had to go a month straight with having all of our opponents cancel on us. Was that lucky? Any game that's close you can always find a couple things to point to and blame on bad luck. Its a loser's mentality though. Reality is you guys won 5 straight on us. Before that we won 6 straight on yall. And we won last year. And ironically those two games are the difference in a very even series that sits at 16-14. But by all means live in a world where UH only wins because we get lucky and Memphis never benefits from a nice break or two.
I thought the 2016 Tom Herman was interviewing week was when WE beat you

Nope. He was relatively focused on trying tot get the team in the playoffs until the first slip up. He had his agent contact UT the following week after we lost to yall (which was the SMU loss) and the Memphis week he was leveraging LSU to get more money out of UT.

All I said was we won 5 in a row (fact), and you were lucky to win that game in 2015. You came back down 20 in the 4th quarter with a backup QB (good on you), BUT our All-American FG kicker (now an NFL star), who was practically automatic inside the 50, missed a 46-yarder by inches with 19 seconds left.
Any reasonable person would say Houston was lucky to win that one. Lucky your backup QB scored 21 points in the 4Q (after you scored 14 total in the first 3), and lucky our AA missed an easy FG for him by inches.
I never said anything remotely like your claim that Houston only wins when they get lucky. Nice strawman, though.

Right and Memphis definitely didn't catch any breaks earlier in that game and they certainly caught zero breaks in any of their wins the last few years. Lmao peak delusion.

What is it with some of you Houston fans? You get offended every time somebody says something you don't like, and you turn every mole hill into a mountain.
Seriously. all I said was we won 5 in a row, and that other game you were fortunate to win after being down 20 in the 4th quarter with a 3rd string QB, and our All-American kicker missing a last-minute FG he normally makes.

Nobody but a Houston fan would argue with that.
Maybe because its disingenuous to say a team got lucky in a game where their starting QB gets hurt? A reasonable sports fan would just recognize that every game has lucky and unlucky breaks on both sides and just let's the actual outcomes speak for themselves.
Edit: Btw I looked at Elliot's numbers more in depth. At that point he was 3/7 from 45-49 yrds in his career (which included only 1 attempt on the season). So him missing a 48 yarder with the game on the line (something he'd never done to that point and would never again attempt), was a hardly a shocker.
