NIL question
So I have a serious question about NIL. Could a basketball player at Duke take money from another school? For example, Southern New Hampshire has a large online presence. Could SNHU pay a player from Duke to market their product? Would Duke be able to stop a player from doing something that is in direct competition with their own school?
Now I know the Duke - SNHU might be tenuous, but a similar way to put it is could a Kanas athlete be endorsed by something other than the "Official Ortho of the University of Kansas"?

RE: NIL question
Well, the NCAA's interim NIL policy prohibits member schools from paying athletes for using their NIL. And it could be another couple of years before Judge Wilkens enjoins that illegal rule.
But no matter, the rule is easily worked around to achieve your example. SNHU hires a firm to handle the ad campaign they want. That firm then hires the Duke player.
Or something... Hey, no need for any school to sweat details. The NCAA is not enforcing their NIL rules anyway. They know they're problematic.
