It isn't. Too easy.

Add these schools at the SBC would be having to battle like hell in recruiting. Probably not the most reasonable long term but it would send a message.

What has exactly changed?
CUSA did take a WAC and ASUN member
JMU will be the best addition long term
JSU would have taken any FBS offer, I never waivered on it statement
USM is the only choice in MS and trending downward as a program.
CUSA did take JSU out of the list. Im probably the only person on the board who has made a guess for the future and didnt get it totally right.

Your perspective apparently, very little of those previous posts, just months before JSU was invited to CUSA align with the increasing fervor with which you deride the Sun Belt over the past few months. Me posting those was not to point to the varying accuracy of your predictions, but rather to illustrate how you sound like a different person to be honest, you made mostly reasonable statements about the Sun Belt and many of the moving pieces involved.

I just don't understand how you get from believing that CUSA was on the verge of having to merge with the WAC and ASUN and saying that JSU would likely "rip their[SBC] arm off" while accepting an invite, to believing the very idea of questioning if CUSA is still truly ahead of the Sun Belt is completely ridiculous in a matter of months. Especially considering the way you spoke specifically on what a good add JMU would be, what a good group App, Marshall and JMU would be, and noting the conference's upward trend. Adding to that, JSU was the only one of the seven "send a message" and "make them battle" schools you suggested that CUSA actually invited(why would we need to "send a message" and "make them battle" if we're so much better than them?)

Look I'll even give you the credit that you were down on Southern Miss before the pieces started moving, but the way you speak about the Sun Belt now does not seem remotely consistent with the way you did before you joined CUSA and decided to draw the battle lines. Not only do I believe that you don't actually believe the things you say now, I'm 100% certain that if the Sun Belt had invited JSU that you'd be spreading their "propaganda" as you call it with just as much vigor as you currently trash talk them now.

Yes indeed. His previous posts are right there to prove what he was saying then, as compared to what he is saying now. And those 2 things are complete opposites.

And any reasonable person would probably agree that while the SB is ahead of CUSA now, G5s are cyclical. It will almost definitely continue to cycle every few years unless one of us makes a big mistake or someone catches lightning in a bottle. Same as individual programs. Louisiana is at the top now but I would not be surprised to lose that standing this season or next. It happens. Such is the life of a G5 school

Yeah I agree r4u, but cyclical is not just about G5. Just ask lswhooo. :-)

And certainly, cusa may well climb its way back up some…lord knows the SBC did it. It just may 3-4 years min, with 5-7 more likely.

The funny thing is my argument has always been very little seperates CUSA, the MAC and the Sun Belt. If I'm giving the edge to any of the three currently it's the Sun Belt, but they aren't better than CUSA or the MAC by the margin CUSA was once better than either of the other two.

The hierarchy remains AAC and MWC battling it out for 1 and CUSA, MAC, SBC scrapping for 3/4/5. Most importantly, when the breakaway occurs, it is far more likely that current P5 members get left behind than current G5 members join in the breakaway and once the breakaway occurs the heirarchy will matter even less than it does now.

This has always been my point, but GOTH claims that I've said "App and the SBC are the greatest things to happen to football" and that I'm the SBC's "hero". Literally things I've never said, meanwhile I quote him directly. But according to GOTH, I'm trolling him.

First one, Ive never waivered from stating JSU would have taken any FBS invite.
Second, JMU is the best add of the SBC. Probably said that a few times.
Third, those are a good add for the SBC but it doesnt make it better than CUSAs new version. Dont think Ive said SBC is a bad conference just not as good as CUSA.
Fourth, if you did add those school SBC would have a hell of time with all of the new FBS schools. How does this make CUSA behind SBC by making this statement?
Fifth, if JSU had been added to SBC I have no idea as I dont know who else would be there. If added to the current group, dont see JSU moving the SBC ahead of CUSA. Of course I have no idea who would have taken JSUs place in CUSA.

We will find out in a few years who is right and wrong. More than likely its up to FIU and JSU to improve and if we do CUSA will definitely be ahead. Liberty and Sam will coming several steps ahead of JSU. For the record, Ive stated this several times.

Dont go into mind reading your not very good at it.

It's truly amazing how full of **** you are, but this last point is the real capper.

You have on more than one occasion accused me of saying things I've never said and when called on it, you claim that you can read what's "not being said" or something like that. Then when I quote you directly, you tell me "don't go into mind reading".

You're really bad at this.

I'm glad it's alive somewhere after we fled the scene and left them in the dust 20 years ago.
