Because every PAC school is a flight risk, they would never sign one. Neither are they likely to establish an exit fee to leave the conference for the same reason. So any contract they sign would be virtually a year to year deal, sort of like an apartment lease. That's not going to induce either FOX or ESPN to pay a very high price. If they were to sign a deal tomorrow there's a good chance it could be cancelled by the network even before it ever went into effect.

Well, maybe Kansas (or maybe Ok state or a texas school). But the conference's continued existence wouldn't seem to be in jeopardy if one of those schools leaves. Backfilling would seem to look easier at the moment for the B12.

But yes, one would think that the PAC schools would be rather unlikely to shoot themselves in the foot.
