Two things to keep in mind:
1) the 25-player scholly limit is no more (Chiefsfan already mentioned this). Starting this year you just have the overall scholarship limit of 85 to build to.
2) The 72 freshmen include both walk-ons and scholarship players, true and redshirts. A-State has 128 total players listed on the roster, and obvs only 85 of those are on scholly. Still, 42 true freshmen is a lot a lot.

Only 2 seniors on the roster have spent their entire careers with the Red Wolves. That's gotta be the fewest in the Belt.

Exodus of Anderson players has been huge and intentional . . . wonder how many are left? Marcel Murray, Ethan Miner, and Samy Johnson come to mind. And Jeff Foreman.

25 rule is no more, was dumped by the NCAA. You can sign as many as you want provided you stay within the scholarship limit.

Yep....which unfortunately for coaches, this means you can no longer use the "it takes time to get my guys in" excuse.

GS has over 30 new additions to the roster this year due to the lifting of signing limits.

Especially when you can backfill upper classman experience with the portal. You can literally fully rebuild a team in less than 1 off season.

I think there’s 16, but I’ve counted a couple of times and I keep getting different answers.

RE: Youngest Team I Can Remember
Looking over App's updated roster I was surprised to find only 9 players will use up all their eligibility this season. Two of which are grad transfers.
