RE: Yormark Era Begins!
Excited for Yormark to get started. I'm in the minority of the old school B12 members, but I didn't hate Bob Bowlsby. I thought he did the best he could given he had to deal with Texas and OU (but mostly Texas) forcing their will on the rest of the conference.

I think the dominoes start to fall once B10 contract is done.

I think they have already fallen. B10 is done for now, ND will stay independent, and odds are 65% Pac stays together for 3 to 5 years.

Surprised about TT in the B12. Thought they were a sellout school. Bottom 5 in Pac are having mediocre and losing seasons. Doesn't help attendance. Winning will improve those numbers. B12 might see a drop in attendance when Texas and Oklahoma leave. 07-coffee3

I think more fans will show up without Texas and Oklahoma. There might have been some complacency within the fan base.

As far as traveling fans, I think Houston fans will fill in a lot of the gaps as far as visiting attendance goes. Coog fans very motivated to play these Texas programs.

Don't forget BYU. We helped pack Baylor's stadium with 48K attendance last year....3K more than capacity. Best Baylor home attendance of the year - more than the Bears' home games against Oklahoma (46k), Texas (45K), or Texas Tech (43K).

I especially anticipate that BYU fans will also turn out well at TCU, Houston, UCF, Kansas, and Kansas State games.

I know I'll be doing my part to help with that, at least in the state of Texas. But down the road, I want to go to Okie State, KS, KState and Iowa State at least.

This year, since BYU isn't playing nearby, my wife and I are going to the Texas A&M - Florida game. College Station is too close by and it's such an iconic stadium with tradition that I wanted to experience it at least once.

Unfortunately, most of my Baylor game enjoyment is limited by work and geography to the television these days, but my dad, who still has season tickets, said BYU's crowd at that Baylor game was bigger (and better) than any Texas had ever brought to McLane.

I'm happy we got a great businessman! Hope that turns out good for long term of the conference and TV contracts.

Before any moves yormack would likely finish his conference tour. This will also give the pac a chance to see their financial future.

Some interesting tidbits.

Basically confirms that Big 12 will go after ESPN and FOX in the next media deal with some sort of streaming component.

Looking at new and creative locations for the 'tentpole' conference events - likely means moving around the Big 12 bball tournament from its seemingly permanent home in Kansas City. Lots of great options within and outside the expanding Big 12 footprint.

Regarding scheduling relationships, the recently-announced extension of the Big 12-Big East basketball challenge fits right in with Yormark's national focus.

Yormark basically confirmed he would continue to negotiate with both FOX and ESPN on Day 1....as it makes too much sense to have them for 90% of their package...while Yormark will probably take 10% and give that to a new streaming service.
